In terms of value for money for a triple room the Marks Hotel on Bath Street offered by far the best deal. On arrival we were greeted by friendly reception staff with minumum fuss and enjoyed a light lunch in the excellent One Ten bar where our waiter was more than helpful with tips about how to plan our tour of the shops and even getting us a map and pointing out the route.

The room was a reasonable size with a small plasma screen TV and was modern, clean and comfortable. No fridge ,but there were tea and coffee making facilties and a pleasant bathroom with good toiletries and lots of fresh towels.

it wasnt until we returned after dinner on the first night that we realised how hot the room was and that there was no air con. The only way to sleep was to open the window and for the uninitiated, Glasgow on a Friday and Saturday night never sleeps, so the noise from the street was unremitting and with a relentless volume that made sure none of us slept much for the first two nights. The Sunday was a different matter altogether , the weekend revellers having by and large gone home and we gratefully collapsed and tried to recover the lost hours!!

It's a pity that what could be a really good hotel is diminished by the lack of air con especially when it's impossible to cope with the street noise when windows are open.

i would recommend this hotel for a mid week stay but wouldn't return on a friday or saturday unless air con was available and i could keep my windows closed!

I stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend as we were having a night out in the city. This hotel had the best location in relation to where we wanted to go.

It took us 30 minutes to check in as the reception didn't have our booking details or room available even though we had pre-paid. Eventually we were 'found' and sent up to our room on the 8th floor. Apart from getting lost in the 'trippy' wall paper we found our room and used the very shabby key card to get in. The room was pokey and had a 'lovely' view of a stone wall. I have seen better bathrooms in a travelodge!

The £25 (for two breakfast) delivered to the room the next morning was nothing short of disgusting, the tasteless scrabbled eggs were swimming around the plate. We had to order orange juice from room service as no drink was brought with it and only arrived 15 minutes later.

I have no idea how The Marks Hotel is gained it's 4 stars, stick to the Radisson and Loft Apartments...pay a little bit extra and get alot more!

At first blush Marks seems nice enough, but it is horribly under-managed. Our traveling party had adjacent rooms on the second floor. A few hours after check-in we discovered that our bathroom had no shower curtain. Instead of tracking down another curtain, we were moved to another room on the seventh floor. The internet connection was non-existent, and when we enquired about it, the young man at the desk seemed helpless to deal with it.

When I was finally able to get in the shower, the tub was extremely narrow and was raised off the floor a good eight inches. It felt as though I might lose my balance and come crashing onto the bathroom floor at any moment.

The room itself was adequate, though the second room faced north, and the crowds on Sauchiehall Street were fairly loud most of the night.

All in all, passable, but not a place we'd recommend.

It's a great hotel. Fantastic location for shops and restaurants. Great bar & food with cocktails served nice and strong. There was a lot of choice at breakfast although it was in addition to the room rates. Worth it though.
Our room was a decent size, clean and quite pretty. We had both a double and a single bed in there but I'm not sure if that's standard for all rooms.
Bathroom was fine. Clean and everything working.

I'd recommend the hotel to anyone who isn't driving to Glasgow. There are no car parking spaces at the hotel and you need to leave the car a few blocks away.

Just spent 3 nights at Marks hotel and have to give it the thumbs up! Location was perfect its so close to everything....train station shops and bars.

The only downside to it was most of the staff were very unhelpful except for the receptionist Yvonne who was so helpful. She advised us on places to eat and drink and her attitude was fantastic. Think she needs to train the rest of the staff.
