Back from a one night stay at the Marks with husband and 9 yrs old son. I found the hotel excellently placed for all central Glasgow sights, bountiful shopping, restaurants and public transport. We had an executive room facing the street on the fifth floor. Expected and got some street noise but could have closed the second set of windows directly facing the street , which would have undoubtledly reduced the noise. Bed very comfortable, towels and bathrobes plush and fluffy, toiletry excellent but clearly not enough quantity wise ( a small bar of soap and a bottle of shampoo for three?! Didn't ask for more though - I am sure I would have received but I thought it is not something a guest should have to ask for specifically ). Great TV. Not much cupboard space (very little, actually) but we were there just for the night so it wasn't a bother. I loved the decor. Management and personnel were unfailingly nice and pleasant both before and during our stay; special mention to Thom for his patience and promptness. Our rate included continental breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, the One Ten, which is buffet based, fresh, tasty and varied. Coffe and tea excellent, service fast and efficient. Again, lovely decor. I felt the Marks is a business hotel which takes great pain to welcome all kind of guests, and with us it definitely succeeded. When in Glasgow again, will definitely stay at the Marks.
