This hotel claims to be a boutique hotel which to some degree it is except for the 'luxury' rooms which were bland, cheaply equipped and cold.
Upon arrival, there were 2 receptionists, both were busy with customers, the first to finish serving then walked past us and left us standing having to wait for the other to finish. It was rude and bad service. The hotel is lovely and the halls have nice wallpaper, you then get to the rooms which are painted neutral colours, and very bland looking. The bathroom was cheaply done with a very basic shower, the toilet paper was the very cheap stuff that you pay £1 for 6 rolls. We stayed on the first frosty night since the winter and the radiator wasn't working, we were given a small dirty fan heater instead.
Dinner was included which was ok, some things were luke warm and the waiting staff were poorly trained. Unfortunately I was very sick later but I do have a sensitive stomach.
Breakfast was a bit of a disaster we weren't shown round and could only see overdone cooked stuff, it was by chance that we caught a glimpse of cereals, etc through in the bar area, it would have been nice to be told. We waited 15 mins and finally had to stop a waitress and ask for tea, she went away to get it then went round the entire restaurant, ran out and had to refill then finally came to us and we were the ones to ask for it.
We paid £89 as a groupon deal, I would have been furious if I paid full price. We weren't asked how our stay was before leaving which was a shame.
Take my advice, stay at the premier inn and go out for dinner, this hotel isn't worth it.

I'm terribly sorry you felt the hotel fell short in a few areas and please let me assure you that your feedback will be looked at in detail with the relevant hotel department managers.
We have happily just recruited a new restaurant manager having run a couple of weeks without one and I'm sure you'll see from future comments that our usual high standard of service has resumed.
I do hope you'll give the hotel another try in the future.
