I stayed in this hotel with my 2 friends as we were attending 2 concerts at the SECC during our stay. We picked the hotel for its distance to the SECC, but upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised. It was even closer then we'd imagined! So big + there!
Plus because it was so nearby we had plenty of public transport methods to choose from to get into town!

Then the check-in, that went very fast and without any problems, even at 10pm! We got to our room, which was really tiny, hardly any space for our suitcases but it was cosy. To us it seemed like they just put the extra bed in, what actually is a double room (so we stayed with 3 in a double room, without the extra bed the room would have been quite ok). But apart from that everything was really clean and we got clean towels every day.

When we got back to our room the following day the keycard didn't work, so we went to the reception and they resetted the code without any problems. This happened to us twice more, and no trouble any of the times.

Beds were quite ok, even though they could have given us some bigger pillows, but I guess you can ask for that at the reception desk.

We didn't have any breakfast or dinners in the restaurant so can't judge that.

But all in all we had a very pleasant stay!

Husband and I stayed one night for show at SECC. Hotel within walking distance of SECC. Rooms clean, food average. The thing that struck me most was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. In particular Joseph and Liam who worked their butts off in the restaurant and the bar in the evening. I would recommend this hotel for people like us, on a concert break.

  • Liked — friendliness of the staff I met
  • Disliked — room small, although sufficient for our 1 night

The hotel is chosen because it is near to the SECC where the conference I am attending was being held. No wifi access, while the breakfast could be better. Overall the service is quite poor. Even though the room is small, it is clean. If you want to be close to city centre, then you might want to look for other hotels.

We were seeing a show at the SECC so needed overnight accomodation.

This hotel was in a prime location for the SECC, it was literally just out the door and over a car park.

The hotel was ok, the staff were nice and the room was quite big, but overall for the price £55 for the night you would have been better off in a travelodge. the room was clean and the tv worked most of the time, there was also a kettle and a hairdryer which is always excellent but the shower was a little grotty with mould round some tiles and the shower didnt drain properly either so the water would fill up as you showered, the beds were fine, the view was of a carpark and thats it really.

Pretty average, good location not too exciting hotel.

.... except smaller. When we opened the door to our twin-room (101) my son observed, 'It's like sleeping in a submarine'. Quite.

I'm not keen on cramped quarters and our room was undeniably cramped, although perfectly clean and in good decorative order. It was also very stuffy, though marginally better after the window was unlocked permitting the merest sliver of fresh air.

In terms of proximity to the SECC the Campanile can't be beat. I'm sure the Crowne Plaza and City Inn are twice as nice, but they are also twice the price. We stayed two nights and it was fine, though I wouldn't choose it as a base for visiting Glasgow itself, only for when attending an event at the SECC.

Two more positives: free parking and nice staff.

We walked into the city-centre from the Campanile and whilst it was a fair hike it was also perfectly doable. We initially made our way to the Exhibition Centre train-station, then just continued walking via Minerva Street, Argyle Street, Elderslie Street and Sauchiehall Street. Very bracing on a crisp December morning.

We paid £55 per room, per night, booked via the hotel's own website.
