“Great location but not on party nights!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

We were really pleased with the location of the hotel and our room on the 3rd floor was clean tidy with a spacious wetroom (we were offered an upgrade - for £15 - to a room with bath but declined). You walk out the front of the hotel and immediately find yourself in the centre of the city. Unfortunately for us it is party night season and the people next door decided to continue the party in their room, from 1.30am to 4.30am. I called reception twice and someone came up and told them to shut up but shortly afterwards they started again. It wasn't the best way to spend a night in Glasgow but it wouldn't stop me from staying here again.

Dear reviewer,

Thank you for your recent review.

I was sorry to read that you were disturbed during the night. This is the season of party nights but this shouldn't be an excuse for the disturbance that you received. Unfortunately the behavior of other guests is out of our control. Although if complaint is raised to our attention the duty manager will speak with the guests to bring the noise levels to an acceptable level.

I am glad that this has not stopped you from choosing us in the future and look forward welcoming you back.

Kind regards,

Alan Taylor

Stayed here last night on business and got upgraded to the penthouse! Spotless, huge and comfy room. Only downside the room was freezing as the air con kept creeping back on, no matter how many times I got up to switch it off. Also no milk available in the room to put in the coffee. Wi-Fi connection was quite bad and I am glad I was not charged for it. Beware though this is usually a chargable service.

But other than these slightly annoying points, the hotel was great, well equipped and the restaurant was absolutely worth it! The food was really tasty, well presented and a far cry from other Holiday Inn restaurants in the city!
Would strongly reccomend the whole experience, whether for business or pleasure! I don't really know Glasgow, but the location is great and buzzing!

The staff is great too and made me feel really welcome, after a long day full of meetings. Thank you

Dear reviewer,

Thank you for your recent review of the hotel.

I have passed on your comments to our maintenance team who will check all the ac units in our penthouse suites. Fresh milk is available in the mini bar.

We have recently invested in our WIFI capabilities and have had great feedback with the speed and ease to use. We have checked the coverage on our penthouse level which shows full signal strength. We will continue to monitor the WIFI coverage.

I was delighted that you rated us 5 stars and you really enjoyed your stay, i will certainly share your review with the team.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Kind regards,

We were very disappointed with this short break, costing nealy £400 for two nights, we spent most of our first night trying to get the safe in our room in working order. The breakfast was cold, when the staff were informed they said they couldn't explain it & did nothing. Tere were menat to be robes in the room & wehad to ask for them, there were also no slippers. I could go on, however shall we just say Holiday Inn let us down on a special occassion & we will not be back!!

Dear Madam,

Thank you for leaving a response on Trip Advisor.
I am sorry for the problems you had with your safe. As you know as soon as you notified us, our maintenance team immediately brought one of our spare safes and installed it in your bedroom.

I am disappointed about your comments regarding breakfast. We have a hot buffet station with is replenished regularly so the items should always be hot. We do have an extensive continental selection which is served cold.

We do have freshly laundered bath robes and slippers which are both available on request. There is clear information regarding this in the bedrooms. When you contacted reception these were delivered to your room promptly.

I am sorry that you have said you will not return to the hotel in the future but I do hope you will reconsider.

Kind Regards

Alan Taylor

I regularly stay at this hotel when in Glasgow for business purposes. It is centrally located and very near the main bus terminal, so easy to get to and from the Airport.

Standard rooms are not large, but there is enough space to work of an evening and wifi is complimentary. The main attractions for me are the excelllent restaurant and the courteous, friendly staff.

A couple sharing a standard room might find it cosy, with limited room for relaxing, but the beds are extremely comfortable and the bathrooms are bright and spotlessly clean.

Room Tip: There can be noise disturbance if you are on the lower floors, facing the main road and so a room on...

Stayed here for 2 days, good value and very handy for the city. Not much of a view from our room-brick wall of the building next door! But for the price it had all we wanted for a few days. Breakfast was self service, not a very good choice but enough.Room clean, tidy and the bed was comfortable. The staff were very good and knowledgeable about the city.

We stayed during a shopping trip to the city and booked an exec room.
On arrival we were upgraded to a suite which was very nice and we enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant followed by a comfortable evening watching tv in the room.

The location is spot on for the shopping in Buchanan street and we were able to pop back twice depositing bags and having a quick glass of wine to recharge the batteries.
Park opposite and the hotel has a discount agreement and it is a quick walk over the street.

All in all good hotel in a great location

I stayed one night in this hotel.
The room is a very good, it has what I need for a business trip.
Bed is Ok, and it has a very good bathroom.
Staff is helpfull.
Don't have parking, and I stayed in the first floor, right next to the breakfast room, so, a lot of noise early morning.
But the hotel filled my expectations.
