When you first enter the room, you won't know which bed is yours unless you open your mouth and ask the people in the room. You MIGHT end up sleeping on someone's bed! Beware...

A good hostel nevertheless, like 10 minutes walk to the train station and the square. A major development is on-going beside the hostel, so you might be woken up by the drilling sound.

When we walked in, we were greeted with a very friendly front desk staff.

The rooms on the other hand, were unacceptable. We had a private room for two people, and our bathroom door was broken, and there was hair scattering the bathroom floor. Not to mention the shower just got water everywhere.

There was also no air conditioning in the room. If heat bothers you, obviously this is a problem. Heat bothers me, only at night. It got unbelievable hot in our room. The only way to fix the problem was to crack open the windows. Then the seagulls nearby were going crazy all night. There also seemed to be a heater vent in the room, with no explanation.

So, if you're looking for comfort, absolutely do NOT stay.

I write this review as a return customer who previously stayed in a twin room which I was overall happy with, however this time there were some definite problems!

CHECK IN: On arrival this visit, I noticed a very badly smashed window taped up, I joked to my friend "Knowing our luck we'll end up with that room"... we laughed and proceeded into the hostel, checked in, eagerly went to our room to drop off our bags and as I opened the door and looked forward - I saw the smashed window!! this window was un-openable, in a rush to meet our friend off the train however we dashed to the station (which is just a 5 minute walk from the hostel) and returned to the hostel to complain about the window... however there was no problem as we spoke to a nice staff member who changed our room without any problems.

So far good, however we found on settling into our rooms that unlike our previous trip when we stayed in a twin room that the following was not included: Towels, Shower Gel, A Television, clothes hanging space. Instead we had to hire towels for £1 and had we not brought our own shower gel we would have had to have bought that too. I therefore found that the 4-person rooms lacked some of the good features of the twin rooms which I had expected.

EN SUITE: I also found that although on my previous visit the shower was quite bad that this shower was even worse! The water aims towards the wall (and when your in the shower - your face!) which makes showering annoying. Also after having a shower the floor is soaking!

BEDS: The last time I visited, the matress which my friend slept on was very worn and caved however this visit - in the quad room - the matresses were like new, very comfortable indeed. However this visit the sheets seemed quite dirty, which was very off putting.

ROOM/OUTSIDE NOISE: The room itself was lovely and warm on both visits - the last visit was in the spring time in quite poor weather so the warm room was lovely. I had no problems either times with outside noise.

BREAKFAST: Both times fantastic, it's a free buffet style breakfast of toast, cereals, juices and Tea/Coffee... I do wonder on writing this however if it's included in the price for everyone? (As towels are free to twin rooms but not Quads etc)

EARLY CHECK IN/LATE CHECK OUT: On both occaisions I have used the late check out service which for a fee of £3 per person you can check out at usually 2:30PM instead of 11AM... However, be aware that if you leave your room after 11AM you have to go and get your card reactivated at reception as it deactivates itself after 11AM.

LOCATION: five minutes from Central station - you can't argue with that!

With so much included, flexible Check in/Check out times, a fantastic location and a secure atmosphere I would recommend this to everyone who is looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay for a night or a few nights... Only suggestion is to find out what you are getting in the price as it does seem to vary.

I am planning another two nights (at least) to Glasgow this year and will most probably be staying at the EuroHostel however I would like to contact them to compare room options/prices when my friends and I arrange how many of us are going etc...

Okay,so I have stayed at Eurohostel in Glasgow many, many times before over the years. The reason I keep choosing it is becuase not only is it cheap, but also centrally located, meaning loads of stuff is easy to access. The staff have always been friendly, the bar is good priced, and the vending machines are cheap too. There are loads of 24 hour shops and supermarkets nearby, and if you want to there are loads of bars and clubs within easy access. Although I always stay in a dorm,I have NEVER had a problem.Granted everyone is always sleeping by about 9pm!! But in all, they are all to themselves and not nasty, maybe this is as their foreign? The breakfast is continental but u can have as much as you want, and the staff are always on hand to help. You are able to leave your luggage before checkin if u want with a secure locked room. The lifts can be a wee bit dodgy at times, but theres stairs!! The bathrooms in the rooms are wht you would expect, and are seperate from the toilets. You have the option of sharing a mixed dorm or a male only or female only one, which is good for safety, and the whole place is manned 24 hours a day.

All in all, even though if I had more money I would probably stay in a hotel,I have absolutely no problems with Eurohostel and I would highly recommend it to anyone for either a short or long term stay! Keep up the good work!!

No more again! The twin room we booked was Terrible!
The room was not clean at all. There where hairs from other people in the room and in the bathroom.
The bathroom was comlplete mildewed. The bed was disgustful impure, so we decided to sleep in our sleepingbags.

I was all over Europe. Sleeping in many Hostels, Campsides and Hotels. But this was definitely the badest place I ever slept.
The Hostel is not worth the money. Pay 5-10 p. more and sleep anywhere else!
