A friend and I arrived at Euro Hostel to stay for 2 nights, 3 days, for the Northern Ireland match against Scotland. We arrived pretty early, around 9ish, but we paid for early check in so while we waited we headed up stairs to play pool, air hockey and generally look around. There is a luggage room so no worries about carrying around luggage.
We entered the room and our first thoughts were pretty basic, but the more we stayed the more we liked it. Once we made ourselves at home the room grew on us, it was a good room for the price we got. The only problem was possibly the bathrooms, not the cleanest I've ever seen. They could possibly do with a makeover, new tiles etc and a shower that doesn't leak! Nearly died when I stepped out to find my towel soaking! It was all part of the fun though, waking my mate up to go down to reception and get a towel haha.
The beds were surprisingly comfy. Didn't like the pillows mind, weren't very plump and there's only 1, so it was like you were lying without a pillow. My tip is, there is a bar at the back of your head, pop it up against that and your sweet. Mind you if you notice their wonderful bar you won't really care about your pillow! The quilt cover was better than the one I have at home, which just shouldn't happen in a hostel!!
Breakfast is the typical toast, serial, drinks etc. If you don't fancy it, the hostel is in such a central place that you can go to many different places, including weatherspoons, for a nice fry-up. I enjoyed the breakfast though.
Free pool kept us occupied on match day, the bar is superb by the way, it's a credit to the hotel. Very cheap prices, the bar staff (especially the bloke who was working on the 19th and 20th) were very friendly and a good laugh. Very modern bar.
Modern reception, very friendly young staff, internet access at the cheapest prices you'll find, a budget stay and well worth the money. Would definitely stay again, enjoyed this stay more than a 3 star hotel in London!
