Before getting our bus back to Aberdeen and after a bit of shopping we decided to find somewhere for something to eat. We walked up the road and this was literally the first place we spotted. As soon as we walked through the doors I loved it. It has nooks and crannies everywhere with seating and different named bars on all levels . The decor is fun and fabulous with wooden trees leading up to a wooden tree rooted ceiling, gargoyles and stained glass ceiling. I love how there are tables tucked away privately into little corners and how you can look over the rest of the place depending where you are sitting. Our drinks were done to perfection and the food was delicious. I had the haggis, neeps and tatties with oatcakes, I couldn't fault it, it was lovely. My husband opted for the Guinness stew, I couldn't help having a bite and it was beautiful, the best version of the dish I have tasted. Unfortunately we had to dash right after our meal however the next time we are down we know where we are heading.I have to say I had fun trying to find the toilets, I was all over the place, passing other women looking for them,us all looking confused and trying to work out a route between us, it was a fun game, I was a bit disappointed when I found them as I was having so much fun exploring the place. Please please open one in Aberdeen.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. So happy you like the food and decor. The Steak and Guinness pie is wonderful. A real winter warming dish. If we open one in Aberdeen you will be the first to know! If you are ever in Manchester or London pop in to the Waxy's there. They are just as beautiful and quirky.
