I stayed at this hotel during a 15 day trip with CIE Tours. The hotel was magnificent and quite large. They also had weddings there as it is quite fancy. The food was very good and the rooms were wonderful. You won't be disappointed by this hotel. Even though I personally really didn't like the city of Glasgow, this hotel made the visit worth it.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a Globus tour. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were cozy and clean. We stayed in room 253, which was extremely comfortable and quiet. We had a robe and slippers, unique toiletries, free interenet access (yay!), a great view of the city (within walking distance of Central Station), and excellent service. Dinner was delicious and breakfast was the best we had on the entire tour. I loved the high tech elevators! This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in - if you go to Glasgow - treat yourself!

I'm a bit late with the review. We stayed in a business class room on the 23rd December 2006 on our wedding night.
We booked this hotel for the reason we book any hotel anywhere in the world- after reading the reviews on this website. The biggest encouragement was when I noted that the hotel management read and reply to the reviews on this website. It seems obvious as just about everyone I know checks the reviews before booking a hotel but I would be surprised if any other hotels bother reading them.
Anyway, we checked in late at night and were quickly heading up to our room to a complimentary bottle of champagne and as we had celebrated our wedding you can appreciate we had sunk a few drinks already and were starving again! We ordered food from room service (about 1am) and it arrived quickly and piping hot.
I had a root around in the mini bar and noticed that there was a sandwich packet with a half eaten sandwich inside on the top shelf which had obviously been purchased outside by the previous guest! Not a major problem but obviously been missed by the room cleaners. A slightly bigger disappointment was that the mini bar was one of the daft electronic ones that charge you as soon as you pick the item up which I may or may not have noticed if I was sober. I pointed it out at reception and I also told them that there were a couple of empty spaces (perhaps also un-noticed along with the sandwich) and I did not want to be charged. "No problem" was the reply.
On return home from our honeymoon we had a letter from the hotel telling us that we were going to be charged £10 for a jar of peanuts and a jar of jelly beans!
I couldnt be bothered phoning the hotel to reverse the charge and
would like to think the hotel would have taken my word for it if I had indeed complained but while it didnt detract from an excellent stay I would advise other guests to be wary of this.

This hotel is quite simply the best hotel I've stayed in - not just in Glasgow, but anywhere in the world.

My reasons:
- Lovely building - all that 'wasted' space in the foyer tells me that this building was designed by architects rather than bean-counters

- Great rooms - very comfortable beds, pillows that don't crush into an A4 sheet and the aircon works well

- Great staff - when here repeatedly on business, the staff make an effort to remember you and remember what you like and don't like; there are not many big hotels which work in this way

- Free wifi

- And that raisin bread....

  • Liked — Comfortable rooms - get a great night's sleep.
  • Disliked — There is actuall nothing that has ever annoyed me in the many times I've stayed here.

What a fantastic hotel. Being a family of five (one a 9 month old baby) space is paramount for us and in particular an adjoining room at a realistic price. The Radisson delivered on all counts.

The rooms were lovely, spotless and our only complaint would be that we were on the second floor over the function room! Not ideal when you have a young family. The hotel offered to move us but as it was so late we decided to sit it out for the first night. The fridges were useful with space for your own bits and bobs which is very rare but ideal when travelling with young children and babies.

Lovely breakfast room and food - probably the best hotel breakfast we've had anywhere. The children loved the pool and mum loved the convenience of the shops!

I would also say that the staff are a credit to the hotel. Helpful and attentive with nothing too much trouble. When we were checking out the receptionist informed me that they had written on our profile that we were never to be accommodated anywhere near the function room if were to book to stay again! Now that's service - I didn't even have to ask.

We will definitely be back!

  • Liked — Clean and contemporary - not a hint of chintz in sight!
  • Disliked — Just the glitch with the location over funtion room.
