Myself and my husband stayed here between 27th Jan and 29th Jan 2007 for his birthday and where do I start...!!

Firstly on entering the hotel, the lobby was wonderful. The glass windows and lifts in the hotel give the place a great feeling of space and I loved the fact that it's the first hotel I have stayed in which is very modern.

Things I loved
-------------------
The lifts were fantastic, what a great system. You just press your floor and the lift tells you which lift to get in (quick and simple).

Our room was very well equipped with a coffee machine, cafetiere, robes, slippers, fantastic bathroom products and great selection of beverages.

Bed was super duper cosy.

We had a gorgeous bottle of prosecca to celebrate my husbands birthday (what a lovely touch and a very kind gesture).

Breakfast was great. Fantastic choice and speedy service. On the second night we had our breakfast deleivered to our room, again speedy delivery and top food.

We had a snack/lunch in the Atrium Bar, which again was very yummy. Unfortunately I wish I had listened to my heart and went for my husbands birthday dinner in the Collage restaurant, but instead I opted to eat in Glasgow City Centre and the restaurant of choice was a big let down...I will know next time!

The yummy turn down service choccies - dark chocolate covered orange peel...mmm!

Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble.

Slight Downsides
------------------------

Bearing in mind, these are not complaints, just little things that make things all the better.

More TV channels and flat screens (although I just seen the managers response and this is being put in place - thats service for you). There is nothing I like better than snnuggling up to my loved one while watching american chat shows and drinking champers!

Overall Impression
--------------------------

Myself and my husband would like to thank all the staff that helped make my husband have a lovely birthday to remember. A tip for anyone who is thinking about staying at the Radisson...if you feel anything is up with your room, just ask, the staff are there to help and will go out there way to make sure you have a fantastic stay.

My favourite hotel in the whole world is The Four Seasons, Whistler - the Radisson SAS, Glasgow is now my second favourite.....and that is a huge achievement and I applaud Radisson for their wonderful service...will be back again, just you try stop us!

Management response from Philip Mahoney, General Manager

What a fantastic review; I'm having this one framed!

Yes, the TV system is coming soon (not before time) and it will be so much better.

Glad you liked all the touches - it's why I always say it pays to let us know about your celebrations.

I'll happily take 2nd place to Four Seasons.

Excellent hotel, excellent location, excellent staff, excellent room, excellent everything.

Don't know that there is much else to say but I will....

From the moment that I checked in the hotel made every effort to make you feel like you were the most important person in the hotel. I booked a no smoking room but when we got into it it smelt a little bit smoky. They moved me no questions asked, in fact they said 'Don't worry, we will move all of your luggage etc for you, go out and enjoy yourself'.

There was everything you would ever, ever need in the room and then some, including fresh milk delivered to your door! The best hotel room coffee and hot choc ever and lovely Aran Aromatics goodies in the bathroom.

We had a 'modern' room (on the top floor) with a wet room, very cool.

This is what a hotel should be and it makes every other hotel I've stayed in since seem a bit lame.

Great rate through Expedia too.

Just returned form a five night stay over the Christmas period at the Radisson. Check in was both friendly and very efficient. My room was at the cheaper end of the price range but was very clean and equipped and maintained to a very high standard. The interior of the whole building was clearly well looked after with staff taking an obvious pride in the appearances of public areas.

The Hotel is ideally situated right in the City centre and although it does not have its own car park has greatly reduced rates at a secure car park a two minute walk away. I was frequently arriving back at the Hotel quite late at night and did not feel at all unsafe despite its location in a fairly "cosmopitan" neighbourhood!

As ever it is the personnel that make a Hotel and the Radisson have a young but very professional group of staff. There always seemed to be someone who was able to answer any questions and the service in the restaurants was impeccable without being stuffy. The food was both varied and very well prepared. Breakfast over the holiday period served until lunchtime which allowed me a very welcome lie in.

If you have not visited Glasgow before do not expect the same genteel atmosphere as Edinburgh, there is a more "edgy" feel about the city which for me (as a confirmed lover of Edinburgh) is the City's attraction.

If Glasgow is for you I cannot imagine a better placed or more pleasant and reasonably priced place to stay.

Stayed here for 1 night and it was brilliant, the staff were so helpful and friendly and the room was fantastic.

On my arrival at around 2 I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff (I also had a free room upgrade to a suite, better than I could ever have imagined)

The bed was very comfortable the room very spacious and spotlessly clean and lovely toiletries!! Had an enjoyable evening out and about and returned to the hotel bar (the atrium) and ordered a bottle of wine, again the staff were helpful and friendly

I would definitely go back and reccommend it to others, I would try the food in the hotel next time aswell as the menus looked tatsy.

It is hard to find anything to fault with the only niggle being a noisy aircon / heating unit which was easily resolved by switching it off (so as it was Dec I'm guessing it wasnt heating, as the room stayed toasty!!!)

Definitely an excellent hotel with comfort, space and excellent customer service.

We stayed at the SAS the night of the Scotland v France football match, and was our first night away since having the kids. The hotel staff were very accommdating, they even phoned for a taxi for us toget to hampden park so we did not miss the footie.

The rooms were better than expected, the photos on the website always look better than they are, but in this case it was exactly as the photos show.

Had meal at the spanish restaurant within the hotel - it was a case of eyes bigger than the belly - all excellent quality, friendly staff.

Breakfast in the collage restaurant, was top notch no complains apart from not enough space to eat everything you could.

Highly recommend the hotel, fortunately that night we were in heaven and to top it off - had an excellent stay at the SAS
