Back at the Radisson again and had another really enjoyable stay. Room lovely and clean, staff polite & helpful and a super buffet breakfast to set you up for the rest of the day.

My wife and I recenly stayed at the Radisson after choosing it based soley on the reviews of other guests on this website and I can honestly say that it was completely true to form.
Initially I booked one room via the website but trying to add another room was next to impossible without doing it as a seperate second booking.(it's at this point that many people would look elsewhere but I phoned the hotel direct and booked another room. This is much easier!)
On arrival (4-15pm) we had the car valet parked (good value if you trust a total stranger to whisk your pride and joy away )but were told that the rooms weren't quite ready. I must say this set the alarm bells ringing a little given that check in is from 2.00pm. The chap on reception was extremely apologetic and escorted us to the lobby bar and instructed the barman to serve us complementary drinks until the rooms were prepared some 20 mins later. ( It's little touches like this that can make all the difference) The rooms were excellent, spotlessly clean and had quality toiletries and accessories.
The next day after a fantastic, extremely good value for money breakfast, we went back to the room (already cleaned and made up) and were asked by a chap at the door if the room was cleaned to our satisfaction. (again a nice touch)
The staff were knowledgable, courteous and professional
and the hotel fantastic, nothing seemed too much trouble and our satisfaction seemed their top priority.
Not the cheapest maybe, but well worth paying the difference over general 3 and 4* hotels in order to upgrade in your mind from a good to a memorable experience for all the right reasons.
The experience certainly was a memorable one and we will be returning at a later date, possibly for some excellent Christmas shopping.

Thanks for the kind comments; delighted to hear everyone was so friendly.

Sorry to hear about the room not being; at that time, it really should have been and it may well have been there was a bit of juggling going on! It is of course a real hotelier's dilemna to get rooms turned around so quickly on a Saturday and, really, we need hundreds of people to do this in the required time - the next challenge ...

The drink touch is our approach in the meantime and we do this simply because it's what we would expect ourselves.

Again, thank you for the review.

Stayed in a business room. Spacious. Clean. Great included room service breakfast (reall good). Classy hotel in city centre with easy train access to SECC nearby. Good staff. Several items had to be adjusted on the bill but this was done with good manners and a smile. The charges related to movie costs and room service breakfasts were removed as these are free with a business class room. The other charge that was removed was a mini bar charge. The fridge has one of those horrible lift it/ move it/ wobble it sensors to inicate use. I hate those things. A really nice hotel. I was there a week and enjoyed the class and location.

Thanks for the review.

Sorry about the billing areas, we'll work on these because, really, it's not on to have included items on the bill. We, after all, know what comes with the rate and we make a big thing about the great value of our business class package, so it shouldn't be beyond me to sort it out.

The mini-bar charging idea is something of a thorn and I have been caught out by these in the past. The positive, of course, is any discrepancy can be sorted out while you're actually here rather than going through the trauma of late charges for these things.

Four of us spent the first weekend in August here (two rooms) to celebrate a significant birthday.

Really liked the hotel. Particularly quiet rooms, central location, well maintained, great breakfast, friendly staff. Was definitely thinking I'd stay here again and recommend it to others.

Only down side was that after I'd settled the bills (for both rooms) and checked out they made another credit card charge.

I had to ring them to ask what this charge was for.

Three rounds of drinks should have been charged on checkout (which were from the other room's bill and I hadn't realised they'd been missed). I have no problem in paying for the drinks they had (and would have done on checkout if I'd realised they'd had them - we didn't all leave together) but one round was significantly more expensive than the other two yet all three should have been exactly the same charge as they were the same drinks. Also one breakfast was charged in this post-checkout charge and we were all on a B&B rate.

Accounts at the hotel refunded the breakfast cost but are unable to tell me how they got to the drinks charges so having already charged it to me, I'm stuck with having paid it. Moral of this story - check your bill carefully and somehow make sure that they don't charge anything to your card after you've left.

It's a shame when something like this happens which taints your view of a great stay.

So sorry about the lack of response, I've been going round the houses on this one and, to be honest, it slipped my mind.

I haven't been abble to shed any light on the drinks situation but I'd definitely welcome the chance to talk this through so we can resolve it for you.

Thanks for the review. Sorry about the reluctance from the front desk, we'll work on this. It's very surprising; the wee blonde lassie usually kills people with kindness so I think probably down to lack of knowledge which, of course, is down to me and is easily sorted.
