Stayed at the Radisson for three nights from 26th to 29th May, in one of their 'business class' rooms. The hotel is great in many ways and it compares well to many other top hotels we've stayed in. The rooms are very well designed with all the things you want when you're away but don't usually get, such as ground coffee and a cafetiere in the room.
We only ate breakfasts in the hotel, and the food was good, with all the variety you'd expect from a decent hotel. The public spaces are really well designed, with some interesting art work on display.
The only problem is some (and I stress 'some') of the staff: we had big problems getting served in the lobby bar one evening - as we always had to ask someone to come and serve us, rather than them being attentive. I had problems getting milk sent to the room (!), which is a shame as it's such a great service the hotel offers: you can put an order form outside your door at night for a 1/4 pint of milk to be delivered in the morning - perfect for your tea/coffee and much better than the UHT stuff in the room. I duly ordered it the night before but it wasn't waiting for me in the morning, so I phoned down and they accused me of already taking it! If I wanted more milk I would have just asked - I wouldn't have made up a story about it not being delivered to the room.
The worst service though was ordering a la carte food for breakfast on the last day: the dining room was virtually empty - only half a dozen of us in there at most, but it took over 20 minutes for my food to arrive, despite chasing twice. When it finally arrived I mentioned the over-long wait to the waiter (who was the same person as took the order), only for him to list excuses why it didn't arrive sooner and why another waiter (and not him) was at fault for not telling me - no apology, just a lot of 'answer back'.
Overall, the hotel is great - world-class in many ways. They just need to train their staff better on excellent customer service, particularly when there's a problem, because a lack of an apology coupled with back-chat is not at all good for the hotel's reputation.
