My wife and I flew to Glasgow from Wales for a weekend away
and what an enjoyable, interesting and value for money weekend we had.
In our opinion the choice to book bed and breakfast was the right one.
I defy any traveller to find a better breakfast for quality, variety and service.
The location of this hotel just happens to be across the road from a Wetherspoons ! (very convenient)
Although a popular pub it had no adverse effect on our stay at this quality hotel,we in fact enjoyed sitting inside and outside Wetherspoons people watching.
The hotel room was of a very high standard, very clean ,usual room comforts including tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, computor facility and T.V.
We did not use the mini bar although very well stocked it was ridiculously expensive so took advantage of the fridge !
The view from our room was poor but again did not really bother us as we were out exploring all day and every evening.
The hotel staff were very smart, polite and very helpful assisting us find various locations and how best to get to them including Edinburgh which was easily visited by train (recommended)
There are many restaurants in this fascinating city to visit and in general you get what you pay for.
However I STRONGLY ADVISE should you desire a quality steak, avoid SIZZLERS in the city centre.

Yup. Very swish indeed! Very modern and beautiful room, very clean and spacious, etc. Everything you'd expect from a modern top class hotel.

Being in the heart of Glasgow parking was an issue. We probably made the mistake of parking in the NCP up the road which came to £12.20 for 24 hours, whereas the valet parking is only £9 I think from the hotel so you might as well do that!

As with all big chain hotels the Internet there is not free, but that's what you come to expect. Also, we booked with expedia and the breakfast was not included BUT the hotel is opposite a very nice Wetherspoons pub, so you can get a full english/scottish breakfast for about £3 in there (which we did, and it was great!).

  • Liked — Swish!!!!!
  • Disliked — As with all big hotels, everything else costs extra (breakfast, internet, etc)

We stayed as a group of 6 adults, in 3 rooms on a Saturday to see the Bon Jovi concert. Our flight got us in very early, around 9.00 am, so we were able to leave our luggage in a secure room, while we had a dander about the city centre.

1 couple arrived back at about 5.00 pm to be told there would be a further delay in booking in as there was now a queue. Naturally they complained about being present since 9.00 am. They were told they should have been pre regisered. Unfortunately the only room available was smaller than they should have gotten, so their bill was reduced from 125 pounds sterling to 75!!! Can' t say fairer than that.

Our room (543) was great, not too much of a view but otherwise grand, except the hair dryer didn't work. The air con worked very well, and the room could get very warm if you had the heat on even a small degree.

We didn't have much interaction with the staff, but the one's we talked to were very pleasent and professional.

The breakfast was probably one of the best hotel breakfasts I've seen laid on. There was even a chef on hand to cook fresh omlettes, and they were delicious.

All in all, a very good hotel, at anot unreasonable rate.
(Oh and the concert was OK too)

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in June. The reason for our trip was to attend a gig at Hampden Park and we chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Central Station and to the main shopping areas. The hotel’s location was excellent for us. It is about 100 yards from the Central Station and about 300 yards from the main shopping area.

The check-in process was efficient and all the necessary information was provided. I had specifically requested a room on a high floor after reading some previous reviews, which had mentioned noise problems. Our room was on the 6th (top) floor and was very quiet indeed, with no noise from outside and very little from the corridor. The room itself was a reasonable size, very clean and contained all the necessary amenities. I must admit though that both my partner and I found the bed too soft for our liking.

We didn’t use the hotel restaurant or bar as there were plenty of places to eat and drink in the surrounding area. We did however order room service which arrived promptly and was to a good standard.

Overall I would recommend this hotel and would definitely consider staying here again if in Glasgow in the future.

Husband and I stayed two nights in the Radisson Glasgow and one night in the Radisson Edinburgh (see separate review). Although both hotels are totally comparable, we liked Edinburgh slightly better.

Like Edinburgh, the Glasgow hotel is in a striking builiding in a good location. The room was spacious and luxurious, and quiet which we had requested. Also the signature Nespresso coffee was present (a very attractive feature of the Radisson!). The breakfast buffet had a good choice of food but the cooked items were not very well prepared (better in Edinburgh). The service was generally good with the exception of one thing: our car was parked by the valet and when we left it took 45 minutes before we had our car. We would probably stay in this hotel again but would self park our car next time.
