I regularly travel from Australia to Glasgow on business and have always stayed at the Radisson. It's a new, modern hotel in a great location. Close to the motorway, therefore just 20 mins to the airport, and central to shops, offices and Glasgow Central Railway station is only a stones throw away.

I usually stay here 3 times a year, anywhere from a week to a month (most recent stay). There is nothing outstanding about the hotel, but it's clean, modern and central. The rooms are a decent size with the usual stuff - large beds, tv, desk and bathroom (sometimes with a bath as well as a shower).

There is an excellent gym downstairs (part of the Fitness First chain I think) - lots of machines, free weights and a good sized pool. Reception has a decent lounge, with a small bar and a free large pool table. There is another bar, a restaurant and a pretty good Tapas restaurant.

Breakfast is excellent, huge buffet both hot and cold. Chef can also rustle up whatever you want and at the weekends breakfast is extended to 1pm !

Staff are also friendly and helpful.

The inroom menu is a bit small, with the usual fare - burgers etc - but you can order from the Collage restaurant or Tapas restaurant.

The hotel is exceptionally popular with tourists of all nationalities and regularly (almost everyu night) hosts some sort of function. It never appears to be too busy though. And lots of locals wandering around in their kilts, if that appeals !

If you get a room on the second or third floor though expect to get some noise from these functions.

Generally a very good hotel to stay at for business or pleasure. Much better than the Hilton or Novotel. There may be more swanky places but for £89 per night including breakfast - I think this was a corporate rate - you'd be pushed to beat this.

OK, so i'd had a hellish-busy week. My other half was dancing in Glasgow that night, i had friends to see.... The thought of a 5star hotel city break in the West would be just the ticket.

It rained as we entred Glasgow and we took refuge in Wagamamas over a bowl of noodles and grew more excited about being in a different city for a night of decadence.

Then we went to the hotel. Looked great from outside. Check-in was straight forward, we got our key-card (only one tho!?) and went to the room.

It was big. It had a big soft bed. It had lots of space and huge windows (looking over a dull view of more bland architecture). It was pretty much a non-descript room in a chain hotel. nice but that's it.

Then there was the bathroom. well, not exactly a bathroom but a vast tiled room with a wet-corner and a loo and a sink. I'm not exactly certain if we were given a disabled room or all rooms are wheelchair friendly (if they are this is very commendable but non very comfortable for those of us who are able bodied).

The scale and colour of this room had a sort of 'care-home' chic. a vast space, devoid of any of the luxuries which could make it feel even 3 star. Discoloured shower tiles, copious grab-rails, an orange emergency chord, low level drying puley, low level toilet paper holder and even low level handles and towels rails added to the 'one flew over the cuckoo's nest' feel of this terrible room. Oh and there was only one bathrobe which we found odd, just why bother?

However, the bed was comfy when we eventually crawled back to it after a great night out in Tinseltown (in the rain).

Next day we checked out and then went to breakfast. (yes, on a sunday brekkie is served until 1pm so you can lie in bed late, then check out (after another horrible showeroom experience) and then go eat).

Breakfast was great, it has to be said. the waitress was a little snippy and the waiting staff busied themselves around us, tidying tables and generally fussing over napkins etc - not great for the digestion - but it didn't diminish the flavour of this meal - great Scottish produce.

Overall, i wouldn't stay here again. There are so many great places to stay in this city that there's no need to settle for this hotel. If it was cheap and cheerful then it could be forgiven.

Stayed In Radisson Glasgow weekend friday 2nd may 08.Receptionist Charmaine couldnt have been nicer. When we got to our room a twin,one of the beds was so uncomfortable there was no way I could sleep on it . When I brought this to the managers attention he gave me a different much nicer room and didn't charge us for our first nights stay. Now thats the way to look after the customer. Happy with new room we headed to the bar where we were greeted by the most friendly barperson ever think her name was Unn I know she was swedish an absolute credit to the hotel. The radisson glasgow has the most courteous and friendly staff of any radisson I have stayed in. The breakfast was superb omelletes cooked in front of you and eggs benidict to die for. All in all a fab hotel for a overnight or weekend away.
