I booked this hotel as a treat for me an a friend where we decided to splash out and have a truly great night in a fabulous hotel.

I did not get paid until the following day of my arrival so specifically called to ask if i could settle the account in the morning, i was advised this was ok so i booked a business room.

Check in was good, helpful and informative. Room was fabulous with things to explore in every drawer! Lovely, luxurious and perfect. Our TV did not work and this was fixed within 5 minutes which is efficient.

We had dinner in the College restaurant, which was disappointing as the server was quite abrupt and rude, and we did not feel comfortable. Food was ok but not fab.

We then went to the College Corner Bar where the service was fantastic and our server was ver knowledgable and made some great cocktails.

We visited the main atrium bar after the Corner bar closed to find the service not as good but still ok i suppose. After the bar closed we decided to call it a night. When we got to our room we were called at 2am to tell us there was a problem with the credit card, i went to reception and was told my card was declined. I informed the reception memeber that i was going to pay the next day on check out, as agreed and planned, where i was told NO i had to pay now. I had no money on my other cards so offered further identification such as my driving licence to act as a garuntee. This was not accepted and i was told to pay now (which i couldnt) or get out. I went to the room and told my friend who was very frightened and we felt as though we had to flee the hotel before we ran the risk of being arrested! We ended up running out a back exit very frightened!!

Such a great experience turned out to be a very bad one unfortunately. I emailed the hotel raising these issues and was told 'we will investigate' but not even a sorry or an aknowledgement. of our sheer distress Such a shame this hapened and i really would be too scared to go back.

Well done to the guy on the Corner bar and also reception (day shift only) who were professional and helpgul, also the lady on the switchboard was warn and friendly! i just hope to get a nice response from the hotel...

  • Liked — the fabulous room and the corner bar staff ability
  • Disliked — the fact we had to flee the hotel!

Just back from a long weekend in Glasgow - Absolutely loved the Radisson SAS - the rooms were nicely decorated and were extremely clean. The hotel couldn't be more central - next door to Central Railway Station. Breakfast was amazing. Although we dodn't eat in the restaurant at night we did have room service one night - it was delivered very quickly and was really nice and reasonably prices. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

Stayed at the Radisson Glasow twice in January, the first was for two nights the other a single night on business. Starting with the two night stay, we were in a party of four, allocated rooms on the 2nd and 5th floors, our room on the 5th floor is classified as their 'modern' type. Glass block wall betwwen bathroom and bedroom, feature cabinet containing TV, hospitality tray, etc, room over looking the atrium.
Room standard very high, bathroom had a walk in shower as requested rather than a bath, all good quality sanitary ware and toiletries. Location of room very quiet considering big functions running in hotel on both nights of our stay.
We used the Collage restaurant on both evenings, food acceptable, service on first night very poor and slow, second night improved but restaurant lacking in a single point of control to really get it running smoothly. Lots of space to sit in the hotel foyer.
The check in and out swiftly done no issues and valet parking very efficient.
Being very impressed with hotel I booked it for a single night on business the following week, again the check in OK, check out one mistake on bill corrected instantly, valet parking faster than ever. The down side on the return visit, after having such a good room previously, booked a business class room, from the website this should have been bigger and better, turned out not to be, in my opinion just a normal room (on level 3), with the addition of a coffee maker and a free newspaper, hardly worth paying a £30 supplement from the first price quoted.Despite request at booking for walk in shower none were available, likewise ended up over looking Robertson Street rather than the Atrium as requested.
Breakfast on this occassion not as good, at 7am, only one staff member trying to serve more than 6 tables at once, egg station not available, people were giving up waiting on specific cooked requests. Having said all this the hotel does give the other big chain hotels a good run for their money and I will return.

  • Liked — Quality of first room on inital stay in hotel
  • Disliked — Poor shower in second visit

From the moment you walk into this very modern hotel you know you are going to enjoy your stay.

Check in was very efficient and the room was very nicely appointed. My room had two single beds pushed together which was strange but fine for single occupany. Lots of nice touches including proper wine glasses, luxury bathroom products, plasma tele - you get the idea. The room had free internet access by cable or wifi.

Breakfast was very nice with freshly squeezed juices and eggs cooked to order. Like a lot of hotels these days breakfast was a little pricey although included in my particular rate.

Only being there for an overnight business trip i did not really make much use of the other facilities on offer. Looking forward to returning here for a leisure trip to test the hotel out some more!

We stayed 4 nights in Glasgow - this was our second stay at the Radisson - we have stayed in numerous hotels in Glasgow, and this is the only hotel we have booked twice, although we found the Thistle to be a better value and would probably stay there in the future. Our impression of the Radisson was not as positive as it was from our stay two years ago. During our stay we found the front desk staff to be not too friendly and not too knowledgeable. (Which is odd because generally Glasgow is very friendly). We were informed at check-in that our rate was "room only" and did not include breakfast. Bummer. That was disappointing because the breakfast at the Radisson is the only thing that gave this hotel an edge for us over the Thistle. When checking in, the desk clerk told me not so diplomatically that my credit card had been declined. She said, "are you sure there's enough room on your card for this?" (Yes, I was sure.) The card was accepted the second time. As a previous reviewer mentioned, we also booked a King size bed only to find we had two single beds pushed together. I expected better from a Radisson hotel! On our final night there, the fire alarm went off at 3:30 am for about 15 min. When I mentioned it at check-out I was informed that an alarm at the fitness center next door triggered it. Also at check out we were informed that we owed an additional 95 GBP due to mini bar charges (we didn't take anything from the mini bar) and "an additional night" (??). We needed to catch a train but were delayed a considerable time as a supervisor had to come and clear out the charges. He said it was a "glitch" in the system. Overall we were disappointed. On the positive side, the hotel is in a good location and is generally quiet when the fire alarm is not going off.

  • Liked — Great location
  • Disliked — Breakfast not included in price - unknowledgeable staff - king bed two singles pushed together
