Went in last Friday around half 5 at night. The place was not busy and a waitress came over right away and asked if we wanted drinks. I ordered a cocktail and my mother ordered a glass of wine. These were made straight away by the bartender, we could see from our seats him making them and placing them on the bar top. From here on the service was awful. Our drinks sat at the bar for well over 10 minutes. This was infuriating as the place wasn't busy. As a bartender/waitress myself, I have a lot of time for other people in my profession and if any of the staff had looked remotely busy I would not have minded so much. However all the staff members were either doing nothing or chatting to one another. Eventually, I could not stand waiting any longer as I was not only thirsty but also did not want the ice to melt in my drink so I went over to the bar and told the barman they were mine and picked them up to take back to the table. A different waitress from the one who took our drinks order eventually took our food order. I ordered the teriyaki noodles and my mother went for the katsu curry. We also ordered prawn crackers whilst we waited. They did not arrive. A while later our food appeared (brought by yet another different waitress), and I enquired about our crackers. She went away and brought some back a short while later. After eating for a while with our first 2 waitresses ignoring us I stopped a waiter and asked if we could order some more drinks. These drinks were served yet again by a different person. All in all we were served by 5 different waiters/waitresses, none of whom seemed to have an idea of what was going on. If our first 2 waitresses had communicated properly with one another maybe there would not have been such slow service. Our food was a good sized portion and was delicious, and because of this I left over a 10% tip, when the waitress came to take the bill I told her to keep the change. The final straw was that she never thanked me. Great staff, rubbish service. I would not have bothered to put a bad review on this website were it not for the fact that not a single member of staff apologised for several obvious mistakes. (Drinks/prawn crackers)

I am really sorry to hear that you found our service to be below standard, and would like to assure you that this is not normal practice at Bar Soba. Our great staff and friendly service is something we have prided ourselves on since opening over a year ago, however we clearly missed the mark on this occasion.
Based upon your comment, we will be holding a refresher training for our staff with an aim to ensure that service to the standard you received will be abolished in Bar Soba. We are also altering our shift patterns to ensure better shift-communication is achieved between staff coming on and going off shift.
I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your food, however, and hope that you will give us another chance based on this.
