Stayed two nights at Langs on a weekend break to Glasgow. Given that Glasgow was the only place in the UK that rained that weekend the visit was saved by Langs' great location which is ultra convenient for city shops and attractions, bus and underground transport and social life. Breakfast was ample and good quality and there is a pleasant bar with outside seating area. Some of the rooms do not have the best aspect so it is worth getting a higher floor and/or a front view of the Glasgow Concert Hall. The only small downside was that it is located next door to the main bus station which provides an interesting insight into the diversity of Glasgow drinking habits, particularly late at night! Overall though a fantastic location to explore the city with friendly and very helpful staff

I have to say that after reading reviews about this hotel, I thought it was going to be a pleasant stay - unfortunately I was wrong. We arrived in out room to find chunks out of the laminate flooring, chunks out of the furnature, stains on the couch with a few cigarette burns to match. We went downstairs to change rooms and got another the exact same but without bathrobes and a dish full of pot-puri and dust! Anyway, we stayed the night and had a shower in the morning with a door that didnt close all the way so the bathroom floor got soaked! By this point we could only laugh, so we went down for breakfast, we ordered tea but the guy didnt bring milk with it, we went to the cooked section but there was no plates so the guy went into the kitchen and came out with 2 for us which were absolutely scaulding, we were then sitting down tucking into our breakfasts when the guy came and told us we were eating it wrong - we were to have the cereal first, the the cooked stuff, then the fruit!! MY MISTAKE!! My advice -dont waste ur time or money!!!

My wife and i decide to have a romantic weekend away in glasgow after having had sucessful trips to the city in the past.
Looking for a new hotel experience we decided to try Langs, the website does in fact show the rather more expensive apartment style suites but being fully aware of this i thought the slightly (only just!) cheaper room which we booked would also reflect this style....... unfortunately not! The room itself was akin to someones spare bedroom, there was mould on the tiles, the previous shower surround had obviously been removed and the old silicone was still left in place.
The hotel is situated in an excellent position for exploring the city but we felt that the style it is trying to achieve has been sadly missed.

We stayed at the Langs hotel for an anniversary break.

The room was much smaller than expected as the pictures for the rooms on the internet were for the large sized mezzanine rooms.

The room was well equiped with robes, iron and board, playstation console, hifi, dvd player, tv upstairs and downstairs, tea and coffee facilities and an uncomfortable couch. There was also a desk, wifi access at a cost I can't remember.

The bathroom was spacious and modern.

The steps to upstairs were steep and not to be tackled if drunk!, the upstairs area was spacious and the view to outside was great.

The main perk is that if you order room service for breakfast in the morning you can order absolutely everything on the menu for one price of about £7 i think.

The hotel is perfectly situated beside the bus station and the city centre. The cinema, pubs, clubs and comedy club are just across the road from the hotel.

The spa facilities were booked up so I can't comment on those. the Restaurant in the hotel downstairs was expensive but really nice.

I would recommend this hotel as a base for the weekend but drink elsewhere as it is really expensive in the hotel.

We booked this hotel for one night for our anniversary. We looked on the hotel's website and decided to go for the anniversary package (suite, breakfast, champagne, chocolates).

We were SO disappointed when we arrived. It cost nearly £200 for one night and it was very very basic. there was no proper ventilation and the view was of the multi storey car park. There was a teeny tiny sofa and my husband is a big guy so we couldn't even cosy up together. The chocolates were a joke (only three!) and the champagne did not come with ice. There was no mini bar and the tv did not work properly. It did not look very clean at all.

The breakfast was a buffet, but nothing special, staff were not very polite or helpful. No apologies given at any time we complained.

What a way to spend our anniversary, such a waste of money, we totally DO NOT recommend this hotel. The travel inn's are better - bigger rooms, cleaner, better breakfasts, cheaper and nicer staff.
