My husband and I just stayed stayed at the Park Inn for a few days while attending a conference in Glasgow. The conference hotel was booked and therefore we were redirected to the Park Inn.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The amenities included an ironing board, hairdryer, extra pillows, coffee maker (complete with tea, coffee, and cookies), and for those of you who enjoy taking long relaxing showers, you’ll love the extra spa-like nozzles! They also provided a Playstation system with disks to borrow from the front desk. I was told that some rooms have DVD players instead. They had a large choice of movies at the front desk as well.
The hotel itself was perfectly located; right in the center of the city, surrounded by shopping! It is also right beside the bus station, so you can take a bus directly to the hotel from the airport if you choose. We went to the restaurant located inside the hotel (Oshi) after reading wonderful reviews, and the reviewers were correct! The food was incredible. The Scottish salmon, risotto, and desserts were just amazing.
I think the only possible downfall is that it can get loud, especially closer to the weekend. Since it is in the heart of the city, you can hear some of the shall we say ‘tipsy’ pub patrons singing away. I didn’t find it bad at all, but in case you do, they did supply ear plugs! There wasn’t a clock in the room, but that may have only been our room for whatever reason, so you may want to bring a travel one just in case.
All in all, it was a wonderful stay and we would stay there again without question. The staff was extremely helpful with directions and suggestions as it was our first time in Glasgow. They were also more than happy to get us extra towels when asked and quickly helped when we had a slight issue with our door handle.
You also have an option to upgrade to their updated rooms, or split level rooms, but we didn’t feel the need to.
Whether you stay there or not, you MUST go to Oshi. Trust me, you will not be sorry!
