My husband and I decided to have a romantic weekend away and decided on the Park Inn Glasgow. As it was our 1st Anniversary I was very pleased I chose this hotel.

On arrival the staff could not have been more pleasant. The check-in was very smooth and very efficient. I found the staff very cheery and welcoming. They were also very informative about the hotel and what was happening in the city.

When we got to our room we were very pleased with what we had been given. They had given us a complimentary upgrade as it was our anniversary. The room was awesome. The bedroom area was upstairs and the living room area and toilet downstairs. The room seemed huge and was kept very clean.

We then decided to eat in the hotel restaurant Oshi. The menu had just recently changed and we found the food fab!!! One of the best steaks I have ever had. We took our time with dinner and never once felt rushed out.

The breakfast in the morning was great too. On arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant waiter who showed us to our table. It was a buffet breakfast with everything you could possibly imagine and if it was not there and you wanted it the chef would make it. I have never known service like it.

I will definitely be recommending this hotel to all my family and friends. I can't wait to go back!!!

OH and i looking for an overnight in Glasgow and a chance to unwind. I booked the "Romance in the city package". Checked in for 2pm, dumped our rucksacks in the room and headed out to hit the abundant shops and bars Glasgow has to offer. Only one negative was i booked a non-smoking room, very obvisously wasn't, not too worry, opened the window and headed out. The package we'd booked came with breakfast in bed, arrived at the correct time and all was right with the order, plus 2 glasses of bucks fizz. This hotel is in a great spot, close to everything, but so is alot of others, if you get a good deal then book it.

My partner and I booked the "romance in the city" deal and also paid £60 to upgrade to the suite.

On arrival check in was fairly smooth and we were sent on our way to the 1st floor (I niavely assumed that a suite would be higher up with a good view, not so!).

We stayed in Room 110 - on arrival the suite is very impressive, a duplex with an upstairs mezzanine bedroom area. However once settled in you begin to see what is 'lacking'.

There is very little hotel info - how to get room service, facilities in the hotel, breakfast times, all that kind of stuff is missing.... The TV in the bed area did not work and neither did the remote, the TV downstairs was battered and had a panel missing on the front. There is a CD player and no CD's and a games console with no games or controls (presume have to pay extra but again no info anywhere to be found!)

The bathroom boasts a power shower, sadly with little power..
There was also a wooden splinter upstairs which I hurt my foot on :(

We ate dinner in the Oshi restaurant - food was FAB service very slow and they forgot part of our order.

We had breakfast in bed as part of the deal and they made mistakes 3 times!!!

Overall not the best hotel experience for an upgraded special package - we expected more, perhaps this is our mistake.

  • Liked — The large bathroom, comfy sofa's, excellent location
  • Disliked — Poor view, room less than expected quality wise, service somewhat lacking

I'll begin with the positives by noting that the hotel itself is in a very central location in Glasgow, the rooms were clean and the hotel well-equipped.

However when I arrived into my room I noticed a set of ear plugs which did not inspire me with confidence.

Across the road from the hotel is a music hall. A concert was on the night I stayed and after it finished lorries were loaded up and the noise of the trolleys being pushed up and down the ramps vibrated through the hotel room at 1am.

The hotel is situated right next to Buchanan Street bus station and all night there were people coming and going to the bus station. At closing time the noise increased and increased again at 2am when I presume the nightclubs closed and I was woken with some wonderful Glasgwegian songs!

The rain started at approx 3am (outwith your control) but it was pounding on the windows which had metal frames and window sills which only helped to intensify the noise.

At 5am the street came to life again with delivery lorries, road sweepers etc so as you can imagine I did not get much sleep.

I appreciate that there will be certain amount of noise from most hotels which are centrally located but this was really extreme unless you are a very heavy sleeper. Surely the hotel can invest in some triple glazing (if you haven't already) to minimise the noise from outside the hotel?

  • Liked — Modern, well equipped hotel
  • Disliked — Too much sleep distruption.

We were really impressed with this hotel during our stay. The location is great for shopping, eating out and seeing the city. The staff were really polite & friendly and the food was always of excellent quality.
The rooms have everything you need: with luxurious bathrooms, DVD, SkyTv and a great room-service menu there would be no need to go out!
We'll definitely be staying here again when we go back go glasgow in a few months.
