I stayed at this hotel for two nights in October., having spent the previous two nights at the 4* Holiday Inn opposite Langs. The Holiday Inn is my usual Glasgow hotel but they had no availability for the last two nights of my stay, hence the booking at Langs.
What a contrast to Holiday Inn!! My room was cramped, not well cleaned and noisy. I was kept awake by the sound of engines revving in the adjacent bus station and car alarms going off throughout the night. Decor was so-so, rather bland and impersonal, certainly not 'stylish' or 'trendy.' There was no minibar, awhich one would expect in a decent hotel.
The washbasin in the bathroom was of handbasin size, causing water to flood the floor when used, the hairdryer did not work, the shower did not work and there was no bathrobe.
Staff received my complaints politely but with indifference and nothing was done to put things right.
I travel frequently and always stay in 4* or 5* hotels and I can state that Langs is the worst of this type that I have experienced.
It is true that the location is good - apart from its proximity to the main bus station - but there are other, much better hotels in similarly good locations.

My husband and I and a large group of friends stayed at the Langs Hotel (now called Park Inn) for a weekend away in Glasgow.

We shopped around various websites and our room was £100 including breakfast. For a last minute booking I would have expected it to be slightly cheaper and I think something more around the £80 mark would be a fair price for this hotel.

The location of the hotel is absolutely spot in. It is very central but without being overly noisy at night.

The room had modern decor and was just a typical modern hotel room - large comfy bed, TV, table and chair, mirrors, complimentary toiletries etc. Some advantages were plenty of storage space, your own iron and ironing board in your room and I believe there was also a playstation (although I do not know where you got games). The bathroom had a large jet shower but there was some mould around the edges which in my opinion is never acceptable.

The hotel seemed well run and check-in and check-out both went smoothly.

The hotel has a parking deal with the Buchanan Galleries which I think is £8 for 24 hours. We parked in a different car park and we were £18.50 for just over 24 hours so I think this is a good deal.

I would consider staying in this hotel again but I am not sure that I would be prepared to pay £100 next time. However, there isn't anything wrong with the hotel at all, if you are thinking of booking it I am sure you will have a perfectly pleasant stay.

Stayed at Langs 5 years ago in a standard room and had a great weekend. For a celebration last week we decided to book a suite - HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. As well as beign much smaller than the hotel website would have you believe the room was very shabby, the bathroom dirty and the least powerful shower I have experienced in a hotel bathroom. The room, which was not cheap, did not even have breakfast included in the price !
Langs really need to pull their socks up as a hotel of this calibre should really offer better service rhan whats available at the moment.
I have stayed in a few hotels in Glasgow and at the moment Langs is way bottom of the list. Come on Langs - must do better!!

Only two or three years ago this was a really fun place to stay in Glasgow. Now its staff are disinterested, the bar area is tacky, it is woefully overpriced, and generally feels dingy and depressing. Even the food on the lunchtime menu was limp. My recommendation is to give it a miss until it's got its act together once more.

  • Liked — The proximity to the city centre
  • Disliked — The sense that no-one was interested in making the hotel work.
