“A great "local"!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

I have not long moved into the area but have quickly adopted The Bungo as my "local"!! They serve hot and delicious food, have lovely warm and friendly service and an excellent drinks menu! A very chilled and laid back atmosphere, with an ecletic mix of people just my sort of place!

“Super friendly bistro and being dog friendly a definate plus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013 via mobile

Visited the bar and kitchen on a Saturday lunchtime after taking our dog for a walk in Queens Park. A friend recommended this place to us as a venue that we could visit with our dog, and we were not disappointed. The welcome for us both and Chico was great and water was immediately provided for him without prompting. The food was good, a nice choice on the menu and was good value for money. It was so nice to visit a modern, city centre restaurant that welcomed our dog, we will not hesitate to recommend it to ur friends

“Chic and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

Another excellent addition to this improving corner of the south side. Decor is chic and funky decor but with a genuinely friendly and relaxed staff. Food is tasty, especially some small plates like the ribs. Service is great.

“Couldnt of been any better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

Quiet Monday night with my parents who were up visiting and for a change I thought I would take them southside for a change, friends had recommended the Bungo, so why not!! From the minute we arrived we were looked after (Jamie I believe?) to the moment we left, now it was quiet but we got the impression service was always this good! The parents both went for the north sea haddock supper, batter beautifully seasoned, I went for the Harrisa chicken, which i could of carved with a spoon! Well done guys keep up the great work, we'll be back!

“Good atmosphere but over-priced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

This is a nice place to go if you live in the southside but food, although very tasty, can be a bit pricey so best to eat elsewhere first. The chicken satay and rosemary chips are lovely but cost in the region of £10 and we're only talking about 3 or 4 little stewers and a wee bowl of chips. Cheese board for 1 cost about £6.50 and consisted on 4 oatcakes and 4 small pieces of various cheese. The wine per bottle was around £15 which is pretty average.
