“Excellent budget hotel, in very central location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2006

A group of twelve of us stayed at the Hampton Court for a Hen weekend in August 2006. I was a little apprehensive given that the hotel only cost us £20 per night but we were very pleasantly surprised by the hotel and even more so by its location! It is so central, just off Sauciehall Street (although it is up a huge hill).

The hotel was cleanish, and each of our rooms had a small but adequate shower room and tea and coffee making facilities. The beds were so comortable.

Only a few of us went for breakfast and I heard that it was good - a full cooked breakfast with extra tea and toast if you wish!

I would recommend this hotel to young people who don't want to blow their whole budget on accommodation but maybe not for families or a romantic getaway!!

  • Liked — Value for money
  • Disliked — Lots of stairs and steps
  • Tips/Secrets — Phone the hotel directly to book, esp for large groups to negotiate discout

Stayed at the Hampton court with some friends. Staff was unfriendly and not very helpful at all. The place itself was ok, however the rooms could have been more hygenic. I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone who has children.

One of the best budget hotels I have ever stayed in. Perfect in everyway right from the welcome by the charming proprietor (who also presided at breakfast).
A spotlessly clean well equipped room (mine wasn't en suite but the communal facilities were spotless) and an excellent cooked breakfast.
Nothing was too much trouble for the genial host - he was even able to satisfy a tentative enquiry from another guest who asked whether they might have any peppermint tea!
The hotel is about 15 minutes steady walk from Queen Street rail station and 20 minutes walk from Central.
