“GREAT INDIAN FOOD”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

We go here quite a lot for a really nice meal. The staff are lovely and will alter any dish you want to suit with plenty of suggestions.
They bring you complimentary popadums and onions to start. The fish pakora is great. There is a great selection to choose from
All their breads and chapatis are good too and an excellent wine list. This is our favourite Indian restuarant

“Indian Cuisine Doesn't Get Much Better Than This”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

Dine here quite regularly and its well worth the drive. Same family have ran it for a number of years and it shows.

All the food tastes really fresh and you can tell the chef is good. Its great value and you always get a warm welcome.

Highly recommended

“The best Indian ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013 via mobile

We regularly have take away from blue rupee and it is always excellent.

This time we decided to sit in and have a meal and I have to say It was outstanding in every way.

The welcome was warm, service was friendly yet professional, and the food was absolutely superb.

We had starters and main courses of chicken pakora and chicken poori and mains of chicken chasni and chilli chicken. We also had a Peshwari naan.

The starters were totally fresh and absolutely lovely as were the mains. The peshwari naan was so delicious that we both commented on it.

To summarise this is a lovely restaurant which is family run. The food is superb and it offers good value. What more could anyone want?

“local is sometimes best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

I had my first Indian meal 35 years ago at a local eatery not too far from the Blue Rupee. I remember it well. It was a lamb bhoona and it is surprising how many Indian restaurants differ with this simple dish. Went to the Blue Rupee last Thursday night with a few friends and sampled the chef's special lamb kharahi. It took me back to my first lamb bhoona in 1978. It was simply delicious. All of the food served to us was excellent. The pashwari nan was perfect and the service was brilliant, friendly, efficient. Nothing is too much trouble for Omar and Liam, the owners. Why do I keep going into the City for a curry when this gem is on my doorstep? I'll be going local next time! Well done guys, keep up the good work
