I Spent 2 nights at the Garfield House, and had an excellent experience.
I booked via the Best Western Website, but on arrival the staff could not find any record, however this was no problem and I was quickly and politely checked in.
I was allocated room 28 on the ground floor, this room had just been renovated, and the work had been carried out to a very High Standard, the room had a kingsize bed, large LCD TV, lounge area, and superb bathroom.
I ate in the hotel, and found the quality, and quantity of food to be great, service was also spot on.
The breakfast was freshly cooked, and again excellent . . . . . I have stayed at this hotel several times, and I have always been happy . . . . especially when you are getting Bed and full breakfast for between £65 - £70

Stayed at the Garfield as attended a wedding reception there. Typical chain hotel that caters for wedding functions, rooms nice, could do with a bit of modernisation (who knows how to use a trouser press?) The hotel really let themselves down though with the breakfast and the competency of the morning food service staff. Table service was not existent, orders (when finally taken) were all completely wrong and when we eventually got our food (about an hour after being seated) it was cold. No apologies provided from staff after receiving our complaints which didn't go down well either. The only way I would stay at this place again would be for convenience, not choice, if I was ever invited to a wedding at the hotel again as the location on the outskirts of Glasgow doesn't provide many other options.

I attended a wedding at the Garfield House Hotel, and would recommend it to couples, and to wedding guests.

The wedding ceremony took place in a conservatory-type room, which was pleasantly decorated. With a large wedding party, some seats have a restricted view of the happy couple. Also, it does get rather warm because the staff close all the curtains around the conservatory until after the bride has arrived (I suppose that is to enable the bride to make a formal entrance to the ceremony room.)

Waiting areas / foyer, etc are perhaps a bit small to accommodate the wedding guests while waiting for the photographs to be taken.

Function suite for the meal / evening entertainment was also pleasantly decorated. Big function suite which accommodates a large wedding party with a long top table and guests at round tables. Sizeable dance floor.

Food good, waiting staff well mannered. There were numerous small children present, and this didn't seem to be a problem.

The hotel is not in Glasgow city, it's just off a large roundabout on the dual carriageway towards Cumbernauld. This means that there are few attractive views, though the hotel has some lawned areas with trees that were used for photographs. Ample car-parking within the grounds.

I did not stay overnight, but I did speak to guests who had rooms at the hotel, and they seemed satisfied with what they had seen of the rooms.
