This hotel doesn't look as spectacular as the Hilton across the road from it, but it is really nice inside. The beadroom was clean, modern, well furnished and spacious. The bathroom was also clean and spacious and plenty of hot water at any time. We stayed 1 night for a Christmas shopping trip and it was worth it. We ate is the restraunt, which has an AA star rating, and it certainly deserves it - the food was to die for - yes it was a little more expensive than we would normally go for, but it was a treat and was worth it. It has an indoor pool, but we didn't have the time to use it - but it looked lovely. I would certainly stay here again and at a Menzies Hotel.

We booked this hotel the night before and were very pleased with the £69 we paid for b and b.

As our flight was very early, we arrived at the hotel at 10am to leave our luggage in which was no problem whatsoever. When we came back to check in later that day, reception staff were lovely and highly efficient.

We used the pool and jacuzzi which was great and, like the rest of the hotel, immaculately clean.

Breakfast the following day was really good. The usual choices in cooked breakfast etc but also some extra touches such as probiotic yoghurt drinks, various juices and preserves which were lovely.

Would recommend this hotel again - the only thing that really let it down (and the reason I gave it a four and not a five) was that one guest had a very large dog with him staying, he was always in the foyer area with it, where it was growling at customers. Worringly, it sometimes had a muzzle on but other times hadnt!! It meant we couldnt stay in the foyer to enjoy the nice bar (as we were really rather scared by the animal). However, I'd imagine (?) this was a one off. I was very close to complaining but did not.

All in all - a clean, nice hotel very central with lovely bar and food!

I have just had my second stay at the Menzies and once again it was wonderfull.
I was given an upgrade to the Loft Liberty Suite when I arrived and what a fantastic room it is! I travel to Glasgow a few times a year on business and I will be staying at the Menzies everytime (I wonder if I get the upgrade every time)
This hotel is fantastic - I could not find a single problem with it

Stayed at the Menzies twice in 3 months, first visit with 5 friends second time a spur of the moment trip away with my mum. Both trips have been excellent.

The hotel is very clean and kept to a high standard. All the staff are very friendly, special mention to the bar staff. We arrived in the bar at 2125 and asked if they were still serving food, they stopped at 2130 but there was no problem with us ordering food so late. I have stayed in plenty of hotels that would not have served so close to finishing time.

Both visits our rooms have been very spacious and clean. On the second visit we were allocated a disabled smoking room, there was no problem changing our room to a non smoking room the reception staff were very friendly.

Pool is very nice and staff very friendly. Food is excellent and breakfast are great.

Also there is a secure car park across the road. We left the car in the car park all day after we checked out, the hotel had no problem with this.

Overall a wonderful hotel that I would recommend for any one visiting the city.
