I stayed at the Menzies Hotel for one night whilst on a business trip to Glasgow. I have to say it was the best hotel I have ever stayed at in the UK.
The hotel is pretty centrally located, although there is a bit of walking to get to the main shopping area. I used to work in the area that the hotel is in, and its being regenerated and has been for the past couple of years, so its an up and coming area. As said it's close to the shops, and also handy for the SECC, or if you're coming right off the M-Way.
My room was a great room. It was a corner room and I had windows all the way round looking out onto Argyle Street. The room was really spacious and very clean. It looks like it's just been refurbished as everything is very new looking, and smells fresh.
One of the best things about the room was the A/C - I am always too hot, and hate hotel rooms where the A/C is useless, or you can't open windows. I turned to A/C on in here and the room was nice and chilled - just my cup of tea!
The bathroom was spacious and clean and the shower was great!
Breakfast was delivered to my room, and was lovely as well.
The only problem I could find - and it really is a minor problem - is that there was no full length mirror on the wall. It was inside the wardrobe, which was a bit awkward.
I absolutely loved this hotel, and as I was there on business I wasn't sure of the price of the room (it was paid for by my company). I was so impressed I plan on returning in the New Year with my fiance, and I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of the rooms as well.
This is a great hotel and I would recommend it to anyone.
