The hotel's location is excellent, though it's exterior is really tired and shabby looking, but things improve once you're inside.
Reception/public areas are nice, stylish and clean and staff are friendly and helpful.
However, the sizes and condition of the bedrooms varies! I was fairly happy with my own room although the finishings in the bathroom were a little tatty and at times I could faintly hear the tannoy of Queen Street Station through my window. But, the wonderfully comfy bed more than made up for this! I had been travelling with colleagues who all found their rooms far too hot over night (despite trying to adjust the heating/AC), but my own room was a perfect temperature. One colleague complained about having a dirty toilet seat in their bathroom, and the bedroom of another colleague was quite run-down compared with the standard of my room.
All-In-all my stay was fine and I'm sure I would stay there again if in the area.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in January 2006. The loaction of this hotel on George Square (aka "Red" Square), is excellent, being within easy walking distance of anywhere you might wish to go in central Glasgow. We had a complimentary upgrade to a "club room" which was large, with a high ceiling. I was also given a free bottle of wine. The bed was comfortable.

This hotel has clearly seen better days, however. All of the painted surfaces in the bathroom were peeling. The fascias were missing from some of the taps. The temperature of the shower was difficult to control and the water pressure was disappointing. Bathroom amenities were basic.

In the bedroom, the walls were thick but there is no double glazing and the noise from outside was significant. It was difficult to get a completely restful night.

The television did not work properly and the mini-bar, such as it was, did not work at all. The room service full Scottish breakfast I ordered on my first night arrived barely warm. I did not order another.

On balance, if you can get a free upgrade and the wine then it's worth staying here for a night or two, but I probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

I had a very good deal, as I booked the hotel on Expedia in conjunction with a BA flight. So I can't complain about the price!

Was upgraded to a large Club room overlooking the square. Unfortunately it took three or four trips to reception to get a keycard that worked in both the room door and the Club lounge door.

Continental breakfast appears to be included, but a full breakfast is another £17.

Food and service in the braserie is good.

This hotel is an over priced disgrace. I booked this hotel because of very bad weather while travelling home. Service at the reception is nil and to be told they had a car park when booking and then to find it’s a mile away was a joke. The room was filthy and one table didn’t even have varnish on it. To sum up the room: small, dirty, noisy, dull and expensive. Breakfast is also an expensive start to the day. Take my advice stay well away from this hotel even in bad weather.
