Sep 14, 2008 | Trip type: Family

Very convenient location, right in the heart of the city (which of course means it's a bit noisy at night). The staff were all charming and helpful. The restaurant was good; we ate there on the first night and would have done so again but it was closed for a wedding reception. Also had very nice sandwiches in the bar area on one occasion but on a second occasion we waited so long for our order to be brought that we ended up cancelling it. Bedrooms were a bit dingy and average. The carpet in the communal areas looked as though it needed hoovering (and it wasn't done while we were there).

Me and a friend stayed here during a shopping weekend to Glasgow. When I booked the hotel I requested a view of George Square whic we got!

Rooms was modern, very clean and provided everything that the traveller could need including a safe in the wardrobe. Especially liked the lighting in the wardrobe, nice touch!

Only one downside - The housekeeping staff are very noisey in the mornings - not good when you have a slight hangover. Hotel - you really need to address this. Not very good to hear this kind on noise on a Sunday morning before 9am!!

Apart from that, enjoyable stay. Will return - if the housekkeping are reigned in over the noise!

  • Liked — The view of George Square
  • Disliked — Noisey housekeeping staff - grhhhh!!!

We stayed at the Millenium Glasgow on the 5th September 2008. The location of the hotel could not be faulted. Its attached to Queen street station and just a short walk from Glasgow Central Station.

The hotel itself is located on George Square which is the heart of the city. It's close to all the shops and attractions.

The hotel has a great lobby area and even the corridors to the rooms are impressive. Unfortunately when you open the door to the room it's a bit of a let down.

We had a club room over looking the square. The room was clean to a fashion but was not spotless. The TV reception was poor. Overall the room was dated and just looked like a lick of paint and some new bedding would make all the difference.

Would I stay here again? Yes if it was just for one or two nights and location was more important than a relaxing retreat at the end of the day.

If my budget would stretch then I would stay at the Radisson SAS which is of a much higher standard. (wish I had spent the extra £30 per night. I have also been told the Hilton and Marriott are very good and also the Carlton.

If you have booked this. Don't worry you wont be blown away but the staff are friendly and the room is clean to a reasonable standard you will just notice the odd things

Sep 2, 2008 | Trip type: Business, Couples

We got given a complimentary stay at the Millennium as I put a lot of business their way and found it to be fantastic. Admittedly we did get put in a superior room, which was very large, but as well as that I thought the hotel was brilliant.

The check-in staff were very helpful and the whole of the entrance/bar/restaurant is well decorated and very tasteful. The same can be said for the rooms. Ours had a sofa, clothes room, desk, large tv, huge marble bathroom and massive bed. The only down side I would say is the room was a bit cold, but only probably because it was soooooo cold outside in Scotland in winter anyway.

Hotel is very centrally located for all the shops and there are a few nice bars in the nearby streets (we found the fish shop to be excellent).

Finally breakfast was amazing!!!!! All you could possibly want and more (too much for my belly).

Booked this hotel via hotelconnexions who I'd booked with few years back and once again we got a free room upgrade to a suite overlooking George Square. The room itself was immaculate and very well laid out with heaps of space. It had separate dressing area and luggage room. The furnishings and cleanliness was faultness.
You couldn't get more central if you tried and shops, bars and clubs all within few minutes walk away.
We were B&B and had a wide choice including continental and full english.
All in all, our stay was brilliant and would definitely go back - all that in a 4* hotel for £80 total you can't complain!
