We booked this hotel direct and got an excellent deal. It only cost £99 for the room including breakfast as well as an evening meal from there “Kitchen Menu”.

During booking we specified a high room and were pleased to get a room on the top floor. It was a good sized room and personally I am really happy we stayed there.

The reasons we chose the hotel was because of the excellent price with dinner included and because they had a DVD player and a selection of DVDs that you can borrow in reception. They had quite a large choice and both DVDs we requested were available.

The dinner was excellent, we had 3 courses each from the Kitchen Menu and ordered a reasonably priced bottle of wine. However for me it was the breakfast that shocked me – it was outstanding!

There is so much choice on the continental section, a excellent choice of cold meats, fish and cheeses, as well as a decent selection of yoghurts and an impressive fruit salad. (Personally I would have been happy with the continental breakfast as it was much better than any continental I’ve had before but our room rate included the full English breakfast so we obviously chose from that menu.)

I had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on brioche and it was absolutely delicious. My partner had smoked haddock and poached egg which he also was impressed with. There was also the normal English breakfast, toast & jams etc. Also on the breakfast menu instead of the normal filter coffee you could have café latte or a cappuccino (at no extra cost).

I would definitely recommend this hotel, in fact if I am ever in Glasgow again I would certainly stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at the City Inn with the exception of the breakfasts. Lovely hotel with great views over the river which at night time is particularly lovely with all the reflected lights.
However, we ordered breakfast in our room on the first day and what arrived was extremely overcooked. Potato scone was more like a biscuit, tomato was burnt on top and mushy underneath, black pudding was so crisp and bacon very fatty. We had also been sent croissants but there was nothing to spread on them by way of jam, marmalade or butter. We therefore decided to go down for breakfast the next day and my husband decided not to have anything cooked but I decided I would like bacon, tomato and a poached egg. Again the bacon was so overcooked that I could not stick the fork into it so I sent it back to the kitchen after eating my egg which was lovely. Tomato again was mushy.
My point is that if poached eggs can be done to order, while it is cooking the bacon could be done at the same time for all the time it takes to cook. Same with the tomatoes. It is not a good idea to keep things for too long on a hotplate. I would rather wait a few minutes longer for a perfectly cooked breakfast than have what I would call a sub-standard one. We have had breakfasts all over Europe and I can honestly say this was the worst one we have ever had.
Everything else about the hotel was lovely so it was a shame about the breakfasts.

I stayed at this hotel recently as I was attending a concert at the SECC with my mother. The reception area is bright and airy and the check-in clerk was very welcoming and efficent and gave me good information about the hotel facilities.
The lifts were very spacioius and the whole place was spotlessly clean.
The room itself, although quite small was very well appointed with a mini-stereo and lovely flat screen TV for which should you wish,CDs and DVDs were available from the reception We had a lovely view over the Clyde and the newly opened bridge.
In the afternoon had a drink on the terrace café which was very pleasant.
As has been said before, the room service menu had a wide and imaginative selection of food that arrived in 20 minutes.
The hotel is very warm and the air conditioning is noisy, but thankfully there is also the much greener option of simply opening a window and this was my preferred method to ventilate the room.
I would certainly stay here again should I be in town for a big concert as it provides a relaxing end to an evening without having to fight my way through the crowd on the way home.

I stayed here in August for one night as I had business in Glasgow early the next morning. I was delayed in arrival and did not check in until after midnight. This presented no problem to the staff who were most helpful in this and every other way. It is centrally located with free car parking where I was able to leave my car until the end of the afternoon.

A good base for business travellers.

A superb hotel and great concept I paid £65.00 for B&B and had a great time.

This hotel is by the river near a casino and motorways links.

I loved this place and will return and may even use other in there group.

The City Cafe is excellent, Staff could be a bit more friendly. I have heard Glasweigens are very funny and accommodating didin't always experience this but did like the hotel.

Ample car parking a rare commodity these days, Robes in rooms abig plus for me.

Well done
