Glengoyne is my favourite whiskey, so I was happy to visit the distillery for a second time in April. I recommend the tasting tour for 20 GBP, I got four whiskeys to taste (12, 15, 18, and 21 year old). Eat a good meal before :)
The tour is really interesting, they let you have a peak into the large pots, and the tour guide was really nice. The countryside around distillery is really pretty.
I was disappointed about one thing though: I bought a bottle of 21 year old Glengoyne at their shop (99 GBP), thinking I would get a good price there with the 5 GBP discount voucher. I was quite shocked to see the same bottle at the airport (Prestwick) for 56 (non-tax free)!!!! That's a huge difference, and I think it's not ok. So take a tour, taste the whiskey, but buy it somewhere else until they have fair prices.
