“Book the free guided tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

Two amazing staircases and the original council chamber explained by an expert who also guided those with mobility difficulties so that they could catch most of her talk.

There were some interesting tales triggered by the portraits in the gallery.

“Fascinating building”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

We visited the City Chambers as part of the Glasgow Doors Open days and were amazed by the gorgeous architecture inside. It is a fascinating building which is very opulent and also has beautiful works of art on display. There were helpful guides but I am not sure if that was just for Doors Open or not. The building is only open on certain days so you would need to check the website for full information but it is well worth seeing the inside of this dramatic and important building.

Outstanding visual splendour. A credit to the Glasgow merchants who wanted to show off their civic pride.

“Fascinating guided tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

We had been meaning to go on a tour of the City Chambers for a while and are very glad we did. The tours take place at 10:30 and 14:30 so we opted for the morning one before lunch. It lasted about three quarters of an hour and was very interesting. Our guide was knowledgeable and was on hand to answer questions. It was particularly nice to see into the ornate debating chamber, which is, it could be said, far more impressive than the Scottish Parliament debating chamber. A must-see and even better seeing as it's free!
