This place is wonderful. The entrance is classy, simple and spotless. The spark of their bar/restaurant nextdoor gives arrival an extra something - a promise of something GOOD.
The rooms are individually decorated with simplicity and extremely good taste. Again, spotless. And the bathroom! Well I was happy to spend a lot of time in there pampering and relaxing. Breakfast is self service with tea, coffee and toast on request, served in the bar/restaurant which gave it a real continental feel.
Now I must mention the staff of this exceptional establishment. From the wonderful hosts to the people on reception to the barstaff to housekeeping - everyone without exception was kind, generous, courteous, friendly and EFFICIENT. Everyone knew what they were doing and did it with confidence and a big smile. I felt safe and comfortable. I slept well and ate well.
I did not want to leave.
So a very big thank you to all at The Brunswick Hotel.
May you be blessed with every success.

Just stayed 2 nights at the Brunswick in the heart of Glasgow city centre. Why funky? Well there are stong reds and blues used in the decor.
The hotel was fairly basic - small entrance and reception, small bedroom, but clean throughout and bed comfortable. There is a cafe/restaurant/bar attached which I found noisy in the evening, but younger folk would probably like it. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The continental breakfast was fine - the coffee excellent - real coffee, freshly prepared, not one of those jugs of over cooked coffee. I felt safe and comfortable staying there as a single female. The staff were relaxed and friendly. And finally - it was very reasonably priced for a city centre hotel. I'd be happy to stay there again.

probably was rather nice when it first opened it's doors, but it's in dire need of an overhaul. Room was spacious enough and was pretty clean, but furniture was really shabby as was carpet and curtains. Great location and nice little bar, but the hotel could do with some TLC. Staff were friendly enough. We only spent 1 night and really just used it as a place to sleep but we probably would have looked for an alternative if we had planned on staying any length of time.

Okay, the location is good. But the rooms are incredibly tiny and the corridors are claustrophobic. Breakfast is even worse: some prefab cereals, yesterday's croissants, plastic cheese and ham, all served in the bar which still smells of last night's beer. The waiters couldn't care less and don't even wipe the tables.
On the whole: really bad value for money. Never again.

We were very disappointed in this hotel. My husband and I stayed for our first anniversary on Saturday night and we were very much looking forward to our romantic getaway.

We could not get over how small the rooms were, the bed takes up most of it, the bathroom was tiny, there was no air in the room, our view from our room was a brick wall, the window would not shut properly and there was no alarm clock. We were charged £85 for our room which I personally think is far too much money and was day light robbery.

There is also no mention of the nightclub on their website that was situated directly below us (it actually felt like it was going on in our bathroom, it was so noisy).

I would only recommend this hotel to students who couldn't care less where they stay and just want somewhere to fall down after they have been in the nightclub downstairs.

I personally think that the hotel needs to re-focus and re-price at the bottom end of the market, or spend some serious money to match its over inflated view itself.

There is minimalist chic and there is providing the bare minimum, and I am afraid this hotel provided the latter.
