“Decent hotel with convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in August. Having never been to Glasgow we chose this hotel based on price, reviews and proximity to the Charing Cross station which turned out to be right next door.

We arrived late morning and were told our room wouldn't be ready for 2-3 hours but were able to leave our luggage in a secure room while we went for lunch and checked out the area. Our large corner room on the 12th (top) floor was very clean and well appointed with the only issue being low water pressure in the shower. From the hotel it was an easy walk to shopping and restaurants on Sauchiehall Street, the Kelvingrove Museum and the University. We never actually ate in the hotel restaurant but stopped in every morning for a take-away coffee and muffin on our way to the Charing Cross station and twice ordered pizza in the evening when we were tired from sightseeing and just wanted to relax in our room.

The hotel has a strange wifi policy with guests given a half hour free each day then charged a daily fee after that. We were offered a weekly rate but found for us it worked out better to use the daily free half hour and then find a coffee shop with free wifi. Overall a good stay and would definitely stay here again.

Out of the door and turn left and you are in the rail station. Perfect for the commute to the office. Surrounded by restaurants theatre and even an opera house. Good breakfast buffet especially on the last day when they worked out how to cook the hash browns. Friendly waiting staff and receptionist. Lift was giving trouble but they fixed it overnight. Bed not so comfortable - two singles bolted together, and I kept hitting the gap when I rolled over in the night, waking me up.

Hotel a 15 min walk from downtown, but also 10 min walk able to West end for some decent restaurants. Although I felt the hotel was a little over priced, I did book last minute. Staff were excellent and came up with great suggestions for the locality.

I stayed in this hotel for a week for a conference. I had a large double bedroom on the 6th floor. Apart from the background hum of traffic the room was quiet and had a great view.

Hotel noise was a minimum and the staff in this particular hotel are very friendly and helpful. They will call a taxi for you, provide extra milk, tea etc or give you requested information without a fuss.

The rooms are basic but soap is provided as is a hairdryer along with the usual provisions. The rooms are kept very clean and the beds are very comfortable. The shower was very powerful as well which was nice. Also if you want to go on a budget there is a Tesco across the road for drinks and snacks !

The only negatives with this hotel is parking is not free and not overly cheap - however it is right next to the low level train station and is a 10 minute walk from the city centre or a 3 minute taxi ride (which costs about £4). Also i could have done with a coat hook and extra coat hangers.

As you may know, Glasgow not the prettiest city to visit but this hotel a good stop the night before or after a flight. Kelvingrove Museum best museum in country.

They are one block from M8 ramp which goes to both airports. Restaurant/bar on site reasonable with pizza, snacks, etc. (open after 5 pm). We left before breakfast buffet & they were kind enough to provide a boxed lunch (eat before security scanners !)

Cash payment machines out of order at adjacent garage where we thought our room included free parking...so ..we lost time in AM getting out. No free parking for hotel as advertised-just discounted!

Allow the 3 hrs early for international flights as the lines are very long and they leave 'no stone or tweezer unturned' when scanning carry on bags.

Hotel one block from the theatre district ..lots of bars & restaurants but a bit far from city center.

Cheerio!

My husband and I spent three nights at this hotel (2nd to morning of 5th Sept 2013) in a twin room. The facilities were very basic and very clean. I chose the hotel because of its location. One can walk to the City Centre and also to most areas of the West End. Visiting Glasgow was trip down memory lane for me as I have spent many months over the years in the town, but had not been back for 6 years. On one of my visits I spent 2 months in this Premier Inn, and the upgrade is very noticeable.
The full breakfast buffet provides many options, including options for vegetarians.
The room, though facing the motorway was soundproof and had a lovely view towards Kelvingrove.

The Premier Inn does what it says on the tin; clean room, be, en-suite. What makes this Premier Inn fab is the staff. Whenever I stay they are more than willing to check you in early if there is a room available (one time I checked in at 10am!!!) or keep your bags secure if you want to go shopping and are not travelling immediately.

The hotel is smack bang in the centre of Glasgow. There are lots of pubs, shops and restaurants close by to cater for all tastes.

Directly under the hotel is a low-level train station, meaning you are never more the 3 minutes away from the main train stations (Queen Street and Central).

This hotel is ideal for a 1/2 night stay as a central location to explore Glasgow from.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the more chance of you seeing the statues on top of all the city's old bui...
