“Warm welcome”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2011

Nice welcome and all staff who were on reception over weekend were always very pleasant. Didn't eat in hotel as up visiting relatives, but good base, handy for pubs and eating places and for trains into town. Room was a bit small but fine for us 2, only 1 bedside light which wasn't ideal for reading. Only issue was on 2nd night people in room above us seemed to be holding some sort of gymnastic competition by moving furniture and ?dropping heavy items on the floor, they were noisier than the party night music!
They had party nights both nights we were there but they finished sharp at 12 midnight, good music selection from DJ!

Room Tip: Probably better on top floor or annexe

on arrival we were given an apartment suite in the building next to the hotel, very spacious and warm. Beds are not the comfiest and pillows very small. The staff couldn't have been more helpful but could only get Xmas menu food as the hotel was hosting a big Xmas party. We were just using the hotel as a place to stay after a function elsewhere in the south side so it was fine for what we required. The decor and attention to detail in rooms needs bit more upgrading. Carpets have had their day, especially in main restaurant. Good price for the room and staff were very helpful.

Room Tip: worth paying extra for more room possibly.

My wife & I recently had our wedding service & reception here & right from the start from booking the venue to the big day they helped create the best memory of our lives!

Price of the venue was very reasonable & staff very accommodating with regards to suggestions & flexibility (had to change booking dates several times which they happily accommodated).

A special mention to Angie, William & all the staff who helped manage the day for all their suggestions & "hands on" leading up to it, their enthusiasm & hospitality was very much appreciated.

Everyone commented on how fantastic the three course evening meal was so a big thanks to the chefs for providing us with an excellent culinary experience after the wedding service :)

Pictures of the reception layout etc to follow!

Driving to a wedding down south we wanted to spend a night in Glasgow enroute. Booked this through Late Rooms for a song and phoned the bloke enroute to say we'd be arriving just after 10pm. When we got there we got parked right outside on the road no problem The lad on the desk announced that he'd put us in the honeymoon suite because 'nobody else was using it and why not?'

Why not indeed! Massive room, massive bed, massive jacuzzi couldn't have wanted more. Can't comment on the food etc as we were away straight after a lie in but the bed was comfy, the room was clean and the staff were very nice.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

We did a 3 day trip around Sotland, 2 nights in B&B's further north and our final night, in what was supposed to be a "boutique" hotel. Having had a superb experience in the B&B's our expectations were high for No.10. However, the parking at the back was filled with deep potholes which scraped the front bumper had only room for 8 cars. Our room was at the top of the building in the smallest room I've ever been in with an equally squashed bathroom. The walls were paper thin and could hear next door quite clearly. That night there was a 18th and 21st party going on in the bar downstairs which thankfully finished at 12, but I was woken several time with drunken stumblings up the 2 flights of stairs. There must also have been a water boiler behind the wall of our bed which had flowing water most of the night. All in all I would never dream of recommending this hotel. The only saving grace was that its location was close to my friends house. Poor, poor poor.

We arrived later than expected so we were unable to get dinner due to a birthday party. However staff were great and booked us a table at Church on the Hill near by great food! They paid for our taxi too which was very appreciated. Staff could not be more helpful & nice. Loved the look of the place our room was big and only thing I could say is it needs a few finishing touches i.e. little lights at side of beds. We did not eat at the Hotel at all but would go back to try a dinner one night & would come back to stay.
