We stayed at the Manor Park Hotel for about a week. The hotel is rated 3-stars, although in my opinion it is probably 1.5 stars at best. The hotel feels shabby overall and has a dated, musty feel. The hotel offers a full breakfast, but they are not too flexible about the timing. If you miss the time slot, no breakfast for you or you might get it with some reluctance if you are close to the cut off time. The rooms have TV with just 4 or 5 broadcast (BBC) channels. You're better off not watching TV in this hotel. Initially we were put up in room on the top floor, which smelled musty. Interestingly, the owners had promised me a room with a nice balcony or something for the first two nights, which I thought was quite misleading since they actually put us up in the attic. Not only was it quite hot, it had only one skylight type of window, which if opened brought in a lot of noise from the highway that is directly opposite the hotel. Thankfully we had to stay in this room for only 2 nights. Both nights I slept badly. This room was pretty small with twin beds, and the bathroom was quite dated and did not feel 'clean'. The bed coverings also do not feel very clean, although the bedsheets were clean and changed daily. The flooring on the bathrooms is vinyl and it sticks to the feet. The bathrooms did not even have bath soaps and shampoos despite the per night rate of 70 GBP. We had a baby with us and they had just stowed a travel crib under our bed, which we had to assemble ourselves, and request sheets, etc so we could set it up. After two nights we were put in the grandest room with a four-poster bed, which was pretty large and much quieter since it was on the ground floor. However, the attached bathroom is very, very tiny and it only had a shower - no bathtub! There's barely any space to even put toileteries around in the bathroom. The owners knew that we had a small baby, but never told us that this second room had no tub. We could not bathe baby for about 5 days, especially since their shower unit was faulty and it either had water too cold or too hot. The shower is literally is a box with a glass door, and despite my small size, I kept banging my elbows on the glass door, which would open and create a large pool of water on the sticky floor. The bath fixtures, water taps (separate taps for hot and cold???) and many other things are simply not up to standard for the price we paid. I was eventually happy to get out of this hotel. I will not ever stay at this hotel. One final word: I only saw 3 staff members, who were all nice. One young lady was especially nice and was a refreshing person to talk to and interact with, while the owners were away on vacation. For a slightly higher per night rate or perhaps even similar rate, one can easily find other better hotels. I do not understand how another reviewer gives this hotel 5-stars. As for those considering location, Glasgow is a pretty small city. The town center (downtown) is much more attractive with shops and restaturants. Even if you save a few pounds staying at this hotel, to go out and eat, each time you take a cab to the city center (about 3 to 5 kms) the fare would run to about 8 GBP. Unless you have a rental car, the cab fares will eat up any price advantage you think you may have. There is no public transportation close to this hotel. Even for some basic shopping, you would have to go to the city center since this hotel is in a residential neighborhood with no shops closeby. Since Glasgow has an underground metro, your best bet would be to find a bargain hotel close to the metro so you can take cheaper trips to the city center with very cheap all-day metro passes (about 2 GBP).
