We stayed in a triple room, a bit on the small side, but overall very clean. The breakfasts were stunning. We were able to keep in touch with family through the free internet access. The staff were very good especially Daniel on reception who was always available to help with anything you needed. I would definatly recommend the Sandyford.

Convient location, great value, with outstanding front desk staff. Not knowing the city, we were happy to find the location close to Kelvingate Park, and close to great restaurants. The staff went out of their way to give us great service, even coming out to the street to show us the best place to park, and how to get our parking receipt.

  • Liked — Attentive Staff, Convient location, Value
  • Disliked — No air conditioning in room, needing windows open for air meant listening to busy traffic.

I stayed at the Sandyford with my wife during a work conference at the SECC (10-15 min easy walk). All my colleagues were staying at 100-150 a night hotels further away from the SECC. For 55 a night this was a BRILLIANT place to stay.

The Sandyford has recently had several upgrades. The lobby is very friendly, with 2 PC's and internet access plus a coffee machine. Our room we a generous size (king) with a nice bathroom. The decor is semi modern (with cheaper fixings). The bathroom was clean & nice, although again with cheaper fixings. But hey it is 55 a night!

The breakfast is very generous with many hot and cold options. The breakfast room is small, but the service is fast so you don't have to wait long (if at all) for a table. PLUS this is all included in the cost of the room!!!

We stayed for 6 nights and had the room cleaned on several occasions with it being done thoroughly on all occasions - no complaints there.

I would take the complaints of others with a few grains of salt! This is a 55 a night hotel & far exceeds my expectations.

  • Liked — quality fare exceeds the price
  • Disliked — water pressure

Arrived at the sandyford around 2.30 p.m. and bearing in mind checkin is from 2.00 p.m. our room was not ready. Also there was noone on reception - had to wander round the hotel trying to find a member of staff to check us in. 15 minutes later, a guy appeared on reception, gave us our key telling us our room "should be ready". It wasnt ready so we dumped our bags and went out for the day.

Next day we were about to leave when the guy from reception appeared at our door aggressively stating that checkout was at half past 10. We hadnt been told this on check in, and bearing in mind we couldnt get in our room at check in time, I think the aggressive attitude was completed uncalled for!

Friends of ours were also staying at the hotel and had a similar experience but were actually shouted at!

Dont stay here - go to the travelodge instead!
