I can't see what the bad reviews are all about. Hotel was great for the price - £216 for 6 nights. Can't fault it. Staff were attentive and eager to help. Breakfast crew were fab - always asking if I wanted more ! TV's a little old, but working with free view. Tea and coffee plentiful in the room. Huge kettle, with tea, coffee and sugar supplies always replenished when they drifted anything from a small mountain on the tray. Toilet and shower clean and tidy. Shower great. Can't understand the bad comments.

Stayed one night for business only because the location was handy but would not recommend it to anyone.

How bizarre to be served Turkey rashers instead of Bacon and to be told it’s less fatty? Fine but it’s not Bacon. And Beef Sausages????

Overall room condition very poor

Room Tip: Try Menzies which is a great Hotel or the Mercure in the City.

Stayed here for one night only , thank Christ !!

I knew in advance that the room was not en suite , but the toilet/shower I got to use was very small and manky as well as the shower cubicle .

In the bedroom itself , there was a hole in the lampshade, a hole in the cupboard, and an out of date tv. In addition the windows saw signs of needing a desperate coat of paint and repair.

On the up side the staff were very pleasant !

We thought a nice family room in Royal Crescent would be a good start to the holiday... but we had a dirty family room, with broken lamp shade, mould, cracked window pane, coffee/tea stains on the skirting, old empty milk cartons lying on the floor. Breakfast was the last straw with retired staff struggling to cope with the amount of people there. We had to pull two tables together to make one for three and then the server asked what we wanted before we had a chance to read the menu (not enough choice for vegetarians)! He demanded to know how many pieces of toast we wanted! Then my husband and daughter were waiting for me to get my food before eating and the server was very annoyed because he thought it was a slight against him. They'd ran out of lots of choices! It looked like the normal folks weren't there and they had to take over. We maybe got them on a bad day. But the family room was dirty. I think the hotel had a major refurb about 20 years ago - it was obviously done to a high end at that time, but left to get run down. the desk staff were friendly and it was nice speaking to them. The hotel is in a good location though and in a lovely street. For a one night stay - it's bearable.

Stayed here one night in June. Had to climb a mountain to get to my room. Hotel is dirty. Not untidy, dirty. Room cleanish, but shabby. When I booked it thought I had en suite, I didn't. Bit devious that! Crap 1980's TV, back missing off the remote. Redeeming feature..... Breakfast was ok. Go elsewhere, see my reviews, I am honest and fair. Dirty dirty place.

Wnt for s weekend in Glasgow. Chose this hotel mainly on value and guest reviews. Was not disappointed. Very good value, excellent location. Nice room and quite clean. Fresh towels each mornng. Nice helpful staff. Breakfast service really enjoyable with friendly service. Have never stayed in a hotel before where the waiter asked if we would like more and he really meant it. Would without hesitation stay again. Would like a bit bigger TV as it was no bigger than a small laptop. Otherwise first class

Lovely townhouse in a great location in Glasgow, close to secc . large twin room for a single person with ensuite. Very good value stay. Yes it is a bit old fashioned, and needs a spruce up here and there, but the very helpful and pleasant staff make it a happy hotel stay.
