I stayed here for two nights in March, 2001. The owners were really sweet and eager at all times to make my stay a relaxed and pleasant one. I've been looking for their website to book again and I am happy to have done so. I would recommend this B&B highly!

The one thing I really liked is that The Barrisdale is situated away from downtown Glasgow yet easily accessible by the local rail. There is a great pub across the street if you want some decent bevvies and food.

The Barrisdale Guest House is a great place to stay with helpful and welcoming hosts. I arrived far earlier than would be acceptable to check in to a hotel, but was warmly greeted by name and a taxi was booked to take me on to my appointment a short distance away in the city.
The room was clean and well furnished with an en-suite shower room. Breakfast was very tasty.
If you don't mind travelling a few stops on the swift and regular local train system, then don't pay the extra to stay in the city centre. In my experience, things are much quieter, airier and sweeter smelling in the West End.
Highly recommended.

Three friends and I stayed here in July, 2007 for our first two nights in Scotland. Ron and Aileen(?) couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Ron truly loves his city, Glasgow, and is a fine ambassador. Our hosts gave us perfect directions to all our destinations, and the train station is only minutes away.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was more than I could eat, and delicious.They have a website, and all was as advertised. It was a wonderful introduction to a truly wonderful country.
Highly recommended!

We recently stayed at the Barrisdale Guest House and found it to be a very nice, clean, welcoming place. We enjoyed meeting Ron & Aileen who were extremely helpful and congenial hosts. They served an excellent breakfast in our room. Ron described the Glasweegians as "fiercely friendly"... and if you stay at the Barrisdale you will experience it first hand.
