Three friends and I stayed here in July, 2007 for our first two nights in Scotland. Ron and Aileen(?) couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Ron truly loves his city, Glasgow, and is a fine ambassador. Our hosts gave us perfect directions to all our destinations, and the train station is only minutes away.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was more than I could eat, and delicious. They have a website, and all was as advertised. It was a wonderful introduction to a truly wonderful country.
Highly recommended!

We recently stayed at the Barrisdale Guest House and found it to be a very nice, clean, welcoming place. We enjoyed meeting Ron & Aileen who were extremely helpful and congenial hosts. They served an excellent breakfast in our room. Ron described the Glasweegians as "fiercely friendly"... and if you stay at the Barrisdale you will experience it first hand.

We booked this B&B after reading the reviews and were glad that we did.

The owner Ron was warm and chatty and shared with us some of his travelling experiences including his visit to Singapore.

The place is relatively easy to find but may not be very accessible if you're not driving. It is a short walk to a train station that will take you to Glasgow City Centre quickly

We had a comfortable twin room that faced the back. By B&B standards, the toilet was huge (important for a lady). We also appreciated the fact that he turned on the heat .

The breakfast has been mentioned in other reviews and we agree that it was good (see photo). A nice healthy change from the cooked meats that we had been eating for days.

The parking is a little tricky though and we had to park on the curbside. No major problem there. At 50 pounds, it was good value for our money. Would definitely recommend this place for those visiting Glasgow.

A great place to stay in Glasgow. Ron is wonderful, full of life and very welcoming. The rooms are clean, bright and comfortable. If you are looking for the huge cooked B&B breakfast, they don't have it here, but cereal, toast, muffins, lots of fresh fruit, and coffee or tea was plenty for me. Quiet neighborhood but underground and commuter trains are right nearby for a quick trip into the center. I stayed here with my parents at the end of our two week trip around the UK. Only regret- we should have stayed here longer. Highly recommend and hope to be back soon.

I read the reviews online & stayed here for 2 nights, as it was near the Scotstoun Leisure Centre (5-10 minutes in a taxi)

Even with the good reviews I was pleasantly surprised with the appearance of the Barrisdale. High ceilings, well decorated &clean throughout. Our twin en-suite room was warm& spacious with large windows.

Ron was very friendly & helpful, a breakfast tray was served at our door until 9am- breakfast in bed was a treat (in PJs too)! Tea, orange juice, croissants, muffins, brioche, toast,(all warmed), cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit..phew more than enough!

For dinner we ate at the pub just across the road which does reasonably-priced pub food &there's a petrol station shop for emergencies, but for more choice you'd have to take a taxi somewhere. We didn't get a chance to explore the area much.

The only downsides were that our shower was temperamental-going boiling hot then cold frequently. And the doors were thin if someone was playing music, but other than that it was great value in a quiet area with a very accommodating host.
Would go back again.
