We recently spent 4 nights at the Kelvingrove in a family room (room 24) with our 15 year old daughter. Room was very spacious - one double bed, 2 single beds with the added bonus of a small kitchen area (fridge, microwave, sink). The fridge was very handy for keeping drinks cool. The only street noise that we heard was on the Friday night, after the pubs closed as people were walking down Sauchiehall. The staff at the Kelvingrove were all absolutely wonderful - very friendly and helpful every time we had a question or just having a chat. Location was great for west end and only a very short taxi ride to the city centre (walking distance if you like a good walk). Would definitely recommend hotel and would stay there again.

We booked this hotel after referring to the Tripadvisor website and because it was so high in the ratings, I expected something out of the ordinary, but it was a big disappointment, and as the last reviewer said, just an average B & B. The location of the hotel is at the quiet end of Sauchiehall Street, and handy for the City Centre (about 20 mins walk to the main shops but on a bus route) and for the more individual shops in the Ashton Lane area. There are lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small, in the basement (as were several of the rooms) so that you could be seen from the street as people walked past. The bed was uncomfortable and the other furniture was cheap. There is a lovely display of flowers outside the hotel but we were woken at 7 each morning as they were watered and the water hit the window. There were no biscuits to go with the tea and coffee, and there were none of the other touches which would have raised the hotel out of the ordinary. Breakfst was average. I would not stay here again.

nice friendly staff who where very welcoming - however, the bathroom in room 20 smells terrible - and there is lots of noise from the street - avoid this room at all costs - very average b&b.

Very helpful staff, great breakfasts and a good location.

Avoid Room 1 if you go to bed early on weekends and like to sleep with the windows open. Lots of noise from the street - ask for something at the back.

My family and I ( husband, 6 year old daughter ) stayed in the Kelvingrove hotel in July, as we went to see my brother. Arrived at the hotel, very friendly welcome from the staff, who showed us to the room. The room was a good size, looking out onto a lovely basement terrace. The hotel is more "old-fashioned" than many in Glasgow, but we felt this added to it's charm. When we got up late & missed breakfast, the staff insisted that we have breakfast in our room the next day, which we did, and it was delicious! So we had it delivered from then on...
The staff went out of there way at all times to ensure our stay was comfortable, so we'd like to say a big "thank you" to them!
