We arrived at the Kelvingrove and checked in without any problem. We had booked 2 rooms for one night, and found both to be more than satisfactory. The decor was unique in each room, with antique furniture and a very nice view out the window of flowers. The rooms were large and clean, with good water pressure in the en suite. There was a computer for public use by the front desk which was free of charge, and I was able to check my email for the first time in a week. The location was great - we were within walking distance of some very lovely gothic architecture, a beautiful park, a laundromat which we took advantage of, and Mother India, the best Indian restaurant around. The town centre was easy to reach by taxi, which was inexpensive and came right to the hotel. We got many helpful tips from the women at the front desk. We enjoyed a very pleasant night's sleep, and woke to a wonderful, made to order Scottish breakfast, which included delicious eggs, bacon, yogurt, tomatoes, mushrooms and potato scones. Everyone involved in customer service was extremely friendly, helpful and pleasant, from the front desk to the servers in the dining room. We could not have asked for a better experience in Glasgow!
