Where do I start arrived at 2:00, told I cannot even book you in until 2:30 and nowhere to leave bags. Except other places would say leave them here and we will look after them.

So sit around for nearly half an hour, go back at 2:25 by which despite the fact that we were first she is booking someone else in,and we had to queue.

First night, there were noisy people through the night.

Second night, a stoned out woman knocked on our door until we answered it at 3:30 in the morning. No phone to call reception in the room.

At breakfast the next morning, the woman who was on seemed to be a competitor for the Basil Fawlty award for rudeness. Where are your vouchers! No good morning, no welcome. Cooked food overcooked. At least it was not personal, she seemed to do the same to everyone.

Staff on the desk slow.

Bathroom badly designed.

Good location, not bad price, clean rooms but I would not return.

I've stayed in other travelodges, and would again, but not this one.

  • Liked — Central location, price and cleanliness.
  • Disliked — Stoned woman at 3:30 in the morning, rude staff.

It's an unfortunate sign of the times that cost cutting now means my business travel booker is under instructions to source the cheapest accommodation rather than a mid-range property in a convenient location. Hence why last week I found myself in the Glasgow Central Travelodge, rather than the more tempting Thistle round the corner.

Previous reviews have hit the nail on the head, you really do get what you pay for. Whilst the room was reasonably clean (apart from the huge cobweb I spied in a corner), it was small, not particularly comfortable, and the decor really needed an update.

The hotel serves a purpose in that it provides basic accommodation at a reasonable price, but not much else. The regular business traveller used to having in room facilities such as hairdryers, toiletries, irons/trouser presses and reliable wi-fi (it wasn't working on my visit) will be disappointed. Whilst some of these are available from reception, if other guests have borrowed them and not returned them yet, then you're out of luck entirely!

Three of us stayed in a family room for two days here. The rooms were smaller and a bit more rundown, than any of the other Travelodges we have stayed in, but certainly not enough to turn us off. The bathroom was really cramped, and the tub was the thinnest I've ever seen,,, making showering and keeping the water inside the curtain a bit difficult.

Other than that, the hotel is very quiet, the staff are actually friendly and helpful, and the location is pretty good. If you get a deal on the internet for this place, you should totally go for it. If you're looking for somewhere really nice, well why are you looking at Travelodges?

Actually one more thing, we stayed in three Travelodges in a week, and this one had the largest electric kettle, but the smallest room. It was just kinda funny to us. Every time we checked into a Travelodge the kettle shrank, but the ones here are huge!

  • Liked — The staff were very friendly and the hotel was super quiet!
  • Disliked — The bathrooms are very tiny.

We had an OK experience at this hotel - but I feel kind of bad that it is falling apart. I mean the toilet was disgusting and the curtains were falling off the hooks and honestly though I find this chain to be very hit or miss - really this might have been the worst I have stayed in.. The location is great however and the people at the desk were helpful and friendly. Great if you are a student or blind (or both)...

  • Liked — The Location and the Front Desk
  • Disliked — It is crumbling away and sad

We paid £68 for a double room including breakfast and considering the hotel is at the budget end of the chain thats probably about right. However, we arrived at 1pm to be told that we'd have to pay another £10 to book into our room before 2:30pm which I did know about. No problem, I thought, we'll just leave our bags and come back a little later only to be told that unless we paid the additional £10 we couldn't leave our bags either. My problem is that by increasing the cost to £78 per night I could have booked a much better quality hotel such as a Holiday Inn Express so we were left with no alternative but to lug our bags around Glasgow until 2:30pm. The hotel itself was adequate no more, although it does have a good location near to the nightlife. I won't be using this chain again.
