The location is not exactly central city, so for a tourist seeing Glasgow for the first time, you may feel a bit out of the thick of things. You won't want to walk into the center of town either as it is both a bit far and not exactly a scenic walk. This hotel is small, and feels it. For instance, the pub is the reception is the breakfast room is the manager's office, etc. That's fine, at least you know where to go to get something done. Like breakfast, which is decent, but takes something like forever, which, in the morning is annoying. The rooms are a minimum of two flights up, I think ours was four flights. No elevator, so if you are traveling with heavy bags, keep that in mind. Our room was compact but very comfortable and simple. The bed was near perfect. The shower was not. In fact, I think it was the worst shower I ever had and because it was so bad, I did not shower the second morning, deciding to wait until our next venue. It was that bad. Oh, and fumes from the kitchen did waft up to our room. The staff are great, I really liked them. They even gave us one of their only parking spaces for our rental car. The pub is lively. Of a Friday night, they have a group of musicians performing traditional Scottish music which was thoroughly enjoyable. Given the above, I would think twice before booking here again.
