“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

Stayed here on Friday 21st February and cannot fault the hotel, the staff, the rooms, the breakfast, anything!

Will definitely try and book a room here again the next time we are staying over in Glasgow.

Discount at the car park next door is also a bonus too.

Stayed over Saturday night. Loved the decor and bedroom. Very comfy bed and bathroom with large walk in shower. Window opened to let in fresh air which is always a plus point. Bright and colourful hotel with nice friendly bar and restaurant. Ate out for dinner but had a lovely breakfast - full Glasgow breakfast - only thing wrong was lady using a Hoover in Reception area next to where we were sitting for breakfast which was really off putting when having a relaxing Sunday breakfast. Check in and out really good and quick. Would certainly stay here again.

I've been to this hotel four or five times now, since it opened. Every stay has been pretty much perfect. The rooms are very well equiped, spacious and luxurious. The food in the restaurant is excellent too, as are the staff, from reception to bar, to restaurant.

However, one thing did puzzle me on my visit this week, why was the Orange Juice at breakfast (Friday) so awful? It was orange in colour but tasted like water with tasteless orange colouring. Sorry fresh Orange Juice is expected at restaurants of this quality. Citizen-M gives you small bottles of fresh OJ at breakfast;-)

Thank you for the great review, not sure what happened with the orange juice but we will have it looked into and addressed. We hope to see you again

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

I have stayed at this hotel twice this year having visited several times last year also. It is without a doubt one of the best hotels in Glasgow with excellent architecture and very comfortable rooms which are furnished to a high standard.

On both visits a friendly welcome was offered on arrival and I was checked in without fuss, however on the first occasion I was given a points voucher for the loyalty scheme whereas on the second visit I was not.

The rooms had been cleaned to a high standard with no visible problems whilst the bed was comfortable and I had a very good nights sleep on both occasions. There is a rainfall shower in the bathroom which is excellent and very refreshing.

I ordered food from the room service menu which is limited but has a good choice available and is prepared fresh to order and tasted very nice, in particularly the fish and chips with real hand cut chips.

Breakfast on the first visit was a little disappointing as the staff appeared to have forgot the order going by the conversation which was overheard coming from the kitchen. The restaurant was not busy so I am not sure how it was forgotten, however the food was fresh and again tasted very nice. The hot items are cooked to order rather than a buffet which I prefer whilst the continental items are self service. On the second visit the breakfast service was much better and I was served quickly.

On the whole two very good visits with only a few inconsistencies with the points vouchers and breakfast, however I will definitely stay again.

We stayed two nights for a family weekend in Glasgow (2 adults and 2 teenagers). We found the hotel met and in places exceded our expectations. Location was excellent (multi-storey car par next door) and only a 10 minute walk from Buchanan Street. The decor in the hotel public areas was very stylish as it was for the room (paintwork all in tip-top condition!). We went for bed & breakfast and the Full Glaswegian cooked breakfast is not to be missed. We would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Glasgow, especially for shopping, eating-out and sight-seeing. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor and it was fine.

Stayed here with my boyfriend and bought the Valentines package which included a 3 course meal, bottle of sparkling rose and 2 boxes of chocolates in your room, overnight stay and breakfast! Fab value! The rooms are gorgeous with complimentary mini bars & are very modern and cosy too! The bar does some great cocktails! The limelight bar and grill restaurant was lovely but service was very slow although we did get a complimentary drink as our dessert took a while. Breakfast service was also quite slow but the food was great. Overall would definitely book this again!

We occasionally book an overnight stay in Glasgow. This time after an internet search for a competitive pre-payment tariff we choose Hotel Indigo as a change of venue and a chance to experience this reasonably new addition to Glasgow's city centre hotels. Our first impression was favourable as reception, lounge and restaurant areas on the ground floor were spacious and furnished in a manner fitting of the age and eminence of the building, whilst the upper floors and bedrooms [that we saw] were in a contemporary and chic style. Our bedroom [202] was long and narrow but the room layout was very effective and offered a modern hotel room with all the features [including a walk in shower and very large bed] and accessories to be expected or needed. Service thought out the hotel was good, as was the served breakfast. Overall Hotel Indigo provides in our opinion, excellent city centre accommodation for business and visitors alike.
