“Good hotel and good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

For the end of our Scotland tour, we stayed in Glasgow for 3 nights.
Personally, I think that 2 nights are just enough.
Indigo had good location and it was very good value for money hotel, so that's what made our decision, this time.
Location is very good, only 10 minutes walking to get to the city center and the rooms are very nice.
We have booked executive room (actually standard room) which comes in red / blue or pink. You get the chance to choose the colour. Our daughter picked the pink one, of course.
The view is not spectacular, but I do not think that any room, except some corner suites, can have a good view in this hotel.
There is lot of natural light in the room and the room size is very good. Very good option for a short city break,
The only complain goes for the bathroom which is definitely too small and the water after taking the shower is everywhere, on the floor, bathroom door etc.
Breakfast is ok, but nothing much to say about it accept that.
Mini bar filling is every day and everything you find there is for free, which is a nice touch.
Hotel staff in general is polite and doing very good job.

I found the staff, before we arrived and in person, probably the best asset of this hotel and thst is saying a lot as the rooms are stunning. We booked it for its location and free wifi wasmy husband had a few business conference calls to do while we were there. Our first room was lovely but unfortunately the wifi would not work. The staff tried to sort the problem out with their supplier but ultimately let us try various other rooms to ensure we could get the wifi to work before we were offered to move. The wifi then was excellent and even streaming videos was not a problem. The rooms are luxurious and well laid out with good storage. Also the hotel is very clean and well maintained. We did not eat in the hotel other than breakfast which was also very good. We would definitely recommend this hotel and return ourselves if we are back in glasgow.

Good check in and pleasant staff but my room was very narrow and faced the busy main road and unfortunately it was noisy at night and the curtains did not block out the bright streetlights which were right at my windows.
Lovely bathroom with a rainfall shower and good quality toiletries. A very comfortable bed with Egyptian bedding.
Everything was spotlessly clean and there was a good selection of tea and coffee with a cafetiere.
Breakfast was a disappointment . A very small selection of continental breakfast and no porridge or honey . The Lorne sausage was tasteless and the potato scone was like cardboard.
The staff were all very polite and helpful and despite these issues we enjoyed our trip to Glasgow .

Room Tip: A room at the back or side would probably be better.

Dear jayjaygee,

Thank you for posting a review of our property. Our staff always goes out of their way to be helpful and attentive to the guests and we are glad that you enjoyed their hospitality. It is also great to know you liked the cleanliness of our hotel. We regret your stay was not as comfortable as it could have been due to the room you had, the noise and the breakfast. Rest assured that your comments will be reviewed by our team and take actions accordingly.

Once again, thank you for your feedback. We look forward to the opportunity of serving you again in the future.

Sincerely,

Karen C

I have stayed at the Indigo three times now and this last was no different - gorgeous interiors, plush surroundings, spotlessly clean, well presented bedrooms with well-stocked proper coffee/tea station and bathroom and fantastic beds. The staff are always lovely too and I find it very useful that on checkout they will charge the card you have scanned with no reauthorisation necessary, making it very quick. Free, fast WiFi as well which is always an excellent benefit and room service is really speedy; sometimes a little on the cool side but very good food in general.

However, eating in the restaurant, especially for dinner, is sometimes disappointing as it is not a busy place but the service is always extremely slow. When you can actually get a waiter to come over they are polite and helpful, but this is difficult, and the gaps between courses are too long.

Unfortunately, the service on this trip was slightly more disappointing than usual. My corporate travel centre booked me in for an extra night which meant my internet password refreshed and I discovered on logging on that I needed a new one. Two colleagues also staying in the hotel were waiting for an email from me before going to bed, so I popped down to Reception to get a new one. There was no-one to be seen. I eventually asked the barman if he could find someone; he peeked into the office behind Reception and reported that the receptionist was on the phone. I waited a further five minutes while he tried to see if he could find me something himself and went back into the office a couple of times to try and get the receptionist's attention. Unfortunately he had to apologise and return to the bar. Waiting another few minutes with no-one else available to help, I was by this time annoyed and called through to the office to ask if someone else couldn't help at all. The receptionist then opened the door to me, looked through angrily and mouthed, "I'm on the phone!!" She eventually managed to instruct the barman on how to obtain a new password while remaining on her call. It was a reservation call, not personal but I was not at all impressed with such poor customer service when the other receptionists have always been so fantastic.

Definitely worth staying here - but don't expect anything to happen too quickly - except for checkout!

Room Tip: Some accessible rooms have wet rooms instead of showers so if that doesn't float your boat (unli...

The location is very good. Short walking distances to the central station and some good restaurants/shops. The room we staid in was very classy and everything was tip top! Free WiFi available. The only thing to complain about was that the breakfast buffet that was included was very skimpy.

We recently stayed here in September and were impressed with the ease of check in and check out. The hotel was centrally located and we walked from the train station in a quick 10 minutes! Staff was nice and our room was quite comfortable!

We stayed 20th and 25th October.
The hotel was recently refurbished and interiors are bold and contemporary (it will be interesting to see how it ages).
The staff were warm and friendly and our experience of the service was excellent.
We loved the rooms, large and comfortable and quiet (some hotels are remarkably noisy places). Very clean with nice touches (free water, fizzy drinks and chocolate in the mini bar, cafetiere along with teas, coffee and hot chocolate and an ironing board and iron).
Needed more wardrobe space and a heated towel rail would dry the towels after a shower. Our room had a large shower (no bath but I'm a shower person).
The hotel is in a great location - just 5 minutes walk to Buchanen Street, 2 minutes from the Central train station and has the express coach links to Glasgow Airport (20 minutes via M8) a minute's walk away.
