“WOW!....What a gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

First time in Glasgow and only using recommendations via TripAdvisor we chose to stay here, and glad we did. The staff were so very helpful and welcoming. The rooms looked amazing with a real trendy flare of interior design. In fact the style of the entire hotel had a real classic movie star style about it. The breakfast down stairs was amazing. The location is great, not to close to the CBD but well with in walking distance. Really enjoyed staying here and would do it again.

Our stay at the Hotel Indigo got off to a slightly shaky start as when I handed over my BA hotel booking voucher the receptionist could find no record of us on their reservations system! Several hasty calls and some frantic conversations between reception staff and the duty manager resulted in us getting into our room a little later than planned. The hotel (and most others in Glasgow) was full that night as Celtic were hosting Barcelona in the Champions League, the hotel admitted it was a mistake on their part and we got in to our room, fortunately for them they had a late no-show so no one had to sleep rough.
Very impressive decor throughout the whole hotel, a spacious and comfortable room with complimentary snacks and soft drinks in the mini bar. Excellent breakfast (traditional full Scottish or continental) freshly cooked to order and served by very friendly staff.
The hotel is very close to the heart of the city, a couple of blocks away from the main railway station and a short walk to most other places. Despite this very central location on a main road it was very quiet and peaceful inside the hotel. Did not get the chance to try the restaurant for dinner as we had pre-booked elsewhere but will definitely return to the hotel and try it out next time.

First time staying in the Indigo Hotel and very impressed .. Lovely clean rooms, Friendly staff and a very relaxing atmosphere ! No bath but a massive walk in shower :0)

Eat in the restaurant but have a starter instead of a dessert !! Cannot fault the stater and main course - gorgeous !!

Currently doing some great offers in the restaurant.. Take advantage of these and eat in the Limelight during your stay :0)

Location - perfect for everything !!

Beautiful, stunning really, room. Beautifully decorated, with a warm, cozy but also business professional feel. Bed was great, bathroom perfect. And it was a treat to have a coffee press in the room, which made the best coffee ever! Location was very good, just 2 blocks from Grand Central train station (but took a taxi because of our heavier bags), near some good restaurants within one block or less. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. This hotel was a bright spot in this city.

Room Tip: At check in, we were asked what "color" room we preferred....pink/mauve was a choice, and...

I only recently started staying at the Hotel Indigo brand and so far so good! The Glasgow branch certainly didn't disappoint.

When you first walk in to the hotel you are greeted with a stunning high ceilings with beautiful period features reminiscent of the amazing architecture of some of Glasgows buildings.

Rooms:
I have stayed at the Edinburgh Hotel Indigo and was totally blown away. When I stepped into Glasgow branch it was nice and had the same type of deco but seemed to be a little smaller than the one in Edinburgh. That's just my own personal experience though but if I were to walk into it first time I would be quite impressed.

Sleep quality:
The beds were OK but the main thing is how quiet the place is despite being in City centre. Good sleep and didnt wake up until we needed to check out.

Staff:
The gentleman who dealt with us during our check in and check out was really friendly. He was really nice and chatty. As a IHG platinum member he offered me some voucher to register for some points as a thank you for staying at the hotel, a nice touch. That said, the night staff were a tiny bit intimidating and could be a little bit friendlier.

Location:
You really are bang right in the middle of the central business district of Glasgow. Walking distance to Glasgow Central station and if you walk up the hill then you are in Sauchiehall street. There are a few bars right next to the hotel if you wanted some warm up drinks before heading out.

Facilities:
Our room included a mini bar which had 2 cans of beer, some crisps, wine, miniature spirits and some Tunnocks. This was inclusive in our room which is a nice touch.

There is a Q park right next to the hotel, which I think is free for hotel guests? I did street parking only because the next day was Sunday.

Overall, the hotel looks great and really enjoyed ourselves but if you are to compare with the Hotel Indigo in Edinburgh then this falls slightly behind. When it comes comparing to other hotels in Glasgow, this hotel really packs a punch and the bigger brands will need to watch out for this little beauty!

Happily stay again!

Nice hotel in the heart of the city as it is just up the street from Grand Central station. Hotel reception team was very attentive during check-in. I like it when the hotel offers up the WIFI password info without asking. We used the hotel at the end of our West Highland Way hike so the plush bed was a much needed oasis. The bathroom was very modern and the shower water pressure was outstanding something the UK seems to lack in my travels. The room was very quite and we faced the office building next door. The hotel was very clean and the staff seemed to be constantly cleaning the elevators after every few riders. I did have one issue at breakfast when I paid the check in cash to dump my British Pounds and then upon check-out the had the breakfast on the bill. The manager took it off after a phone call to the dining room. The situation was handled very professionally so I won't let it sway my opinion. This is the first time I have used this chain and I will look for them in my future travels.
