“Room To Relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

This was our first experience of a Hotel Indigo as we usually stuck to Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Expresses, but when an invite offering room for £20.12 dropped into my inbox we couldn't ignore it. All though we only stopped one night, on our journey to Inverness, the hotel offers a place of peace and quiet in the hurly burly of a modern City Centre.

The rooms are a very reasonable size with a modern flat screen TV, a HUGE bed, a drinks fridge and a Rainforest Shower Head in the Wet Room Area of the Bathroom. There are also plenty of electrical sockets and even some by the bedside table.....many other hotels should take note!

Just minutes away from the main railway station and short walk to the shopping centre this hotel is perfectly placed for the business or leisure traveller. If travelling by car there is Q-Park Car Park adjacent to the hotel and it has an offer of half price overnight parking. That works out at £7.75 for overnight parking; an absolute bargain!

To reflect the high standards the bar and brasserie prices are a little steep. There is a Wetherspoons 50 metres away for those who prefer a pint of real ale or don't mind pub grub.

We had an enjoyable two night stay using the 'buy one night, get one free' offer which made it great value for money. Rooms were furnished to a high standard with free wifi and a complimentary mini bar. Dinner in the restaurant was good and staff were polite and helpful.

Have used this hotel for business and leisure. Staff so friendly and professional with a cheery word every time you come in or out of the building. Great central location and close to public transport

We arrived on a very busy New Year's Eve. Despite a power cut and checking in systems down, the reception staff managed to check us in quickly, efficiently and were very polite.

We stayed in an Executive room which had a good view, was very tastefully decorated. They have an ipod docking station which was great. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was superb. The mini bar contained complimentary refreshments which included water and soft drinks.

Breakfast was good. Granted the portions of the cooked menu were not large, but the quality was very good. We had cooked breakfasts which arrived promptly, and a continental selection which was self-service.

Staff were fantastic in every area of the hotel.

The location is central which means that shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

We will absolutely be visiting this hotel again.

Room Tip: We booked an executive room which was beautiful

I was really looking forward to our stay but unfortunately it was a disappointment. The hotel is not all bad it is well situated and the decor of the hotel throughout is very good, I also found all the staff to be very pleasent. Our room was a little on the small side but adequate and comfortable. The major down side though was the noise! our room 502 was situated right across from the door into the lift area and every time someone went through BANG late into the night BANG and early in the morning BANG. We also had some noisy neighbours on our first night but I realise that this is not the fault of the hotel. The fundamental reason for a hotel is to provide a good nights sleep and I'm afraid this wasn't the case. The only other gripe I had was with the complimentary snacks or as it should be described SNACK. I presumed on the first night they had set up the room for one person not realising that we were indeed a couple but when we were re stocked the next day we had the same dilemma - who would get the bag of crisps and who would get the chocolate biscuit! I think it is a great idea to provide free snacks but when you are advertising it as a USP at least a bag of crisps each please. Not entirely sure if I would return, felt a little underwhelmed by the whole experience.

Room Tip: Avoid room 502 if you like a good nights sleep!

Thank you for your review. We are disappointed that we failed to meet your expectation and offer our sincere apology. We would happily have room moved you for either disturbance that you encountered, had you let us know. We have had the door at the lift lobby checked to ensure it is not causing a disturbance. Despite this experience, I do hope that you would consider staying with us in the future.

Stayed 3 nights including New Years Eve with my husband and young son. All Hotel staff were attentive and friendly throughout our stay. Decor was as you would expect from a boutique hotel and still looking very new. We only ate breakfast in the hotel and it was very good. Excellent location,5 minutes from the shops bars and restaurants but far enough not to get a lot of street noise at night. Have stayed in a lot of hotels in Glasgow and would put this at the topic the list. Can't wait to go back.

Stayed for 1 night in between Christmas and New year. The Hotel is immaculate and the rooms very comfy, with nice touches. The only down side was the Breakfast not up to standard at all, they advertise a hearty breakfast where infact you receive a very small and slightly uncooked 'Full' Glasgow breakfast. We would definatly stay at this hotel again as it was spot on however, we will pass on breakfast.
