We booked here on a package for dinner bed and breakfast which we found to be excellent value for money.
The rooms were stylishly decorated, all in lime green and browns. The general hotel contrasts these colours with a hot pink which makes it really modern. The rooms were slightly small, however, this could be due to the huge beds which is worth less room! The bathrooms were again modern with large walk-in shower enclosures and rainfall showers.
I felt that the hotel had made the most of the of the space available - for instance opting for a really large shower enclosure rather than a small bath. The wardrobe space was decent and loved the stylish wood full length mirror.
Indigo has really tried to add little extras which make it a bit different from many other faceless hotels.
Free wifi, docking station, complimentary mini bar (sweets, juice and water), and speakers with adjustable volume controls in the bathroom.
One thing I really liked about the hotel was the artwork. The restaurant has portraits of famous Glaswegians hanging on the wall and this is pretty interesting - we spent quite some time at dinner naming other famous Scots! Its a really good focal point whether you are a native Scot or a vistitor.
The girls in reception were both efficient and friendly (Bonnie & another girl who checked us in - sorry didn't get a name), as were the bar and restaurant staff.
Dinner at the Limelight bar and Grill was lovely - we ate from the Market menu which gave really good choice considering it was a smaller menu. The flavours of the food we had were great (black pudding & poached egg starters, A limelight burger, and a butternut squash rissoto - which was delicious).
Cocktails from the bar were delicious!
At breakfast you are given a menu where you can chose to have something made to order. We were slightly disappointed with the buffet as many of the items were dimished or gone completely. To be fair we did go for breakfast quite late, however the breakfast room was still really busy and it seemed the hotel was unwilling to replenish certain items (such as OJ). On the whole though the breakfast was good, and I preferred getting scrambled egg and toast freshly prepared and served at the table, rather than have had someone else poke about at it at the buffet.
Also worth mentioning is that the hotel has a great central location and the car park (with reduced rate from the hotel) is right next door.
We have stayed at several Glasgow hotels, but think this is now our favourite.
