“Dont judge a book......”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

First time I've ever stayed at a Campanile hotel and it certainly wont be the last. The downsides are that the area around the hotel doesnt look appealing and the bar is very pricey. Also, having travelled in Glasgow before, it isnt really near the airport (although they do provide a shuttle to the airport).

The good points are the rooms are clean, they are a fine in size and comfortable. The bathoom was fine too and it had a good sized shower. Parking and wi-fi is free as well which was great and, if you need to get to the city, there is numerous buses that run from the near by Braehead centre.

Nice hotel and would return if I was heading out that way.

Room Tip: Bring a carry out with you (Sainsburys is a 5 minute walk), bar isnt cheap. Try to get a room away...

I came to this hotel with a group early this month (August). It really is only a transit type hotel- overnight to and from the airport which is 10-15 mins away with no shuttle service!! It does not have the feel of a real Campanile it feels like its being run on a franchise or by a management company?
Check in was failry well organised, the rooms generally were just what you'd expect at this price point but not much better. There was an issue with dirty floor in a disabled room and rusty bath plug... left there all the time it was occupied and never moved(so not cleaned?) The pillows and bed were comfortable The reception doubled as the bar and was understaffed and it ran out of virtually everthing from 3 out of 4 beers, wine, etc, it looked like the manageress had to resort to shopping at Sainsburys to restock the bar-ridiculous. (I think the stafff had to borrow a tour reps corkscrew as well as they couldn't find theirs!!There were 2x coach parties in the hotel one English one German, and the only beer on offer (out of 4 ) was Boddingtons!! for a German must have been painful to drink what a poor advertisement. The 'restaurant" was too small for groups, one group placed in a conference room which was booked for use in the morning so at breakfast people were stood waiting in the small foyer to access their conference room. The food quality for dinner was like school dinner s -bulk catering operation with tables that were too small and too close together.
The breakfast was okay except the restaurant ran out of food, then dishes, then cutlery by the time you had all what you needed it was time to go!!!. Very poor. There were a limited range of cereals and bread/pastries and - as the coffee machine was broken - no coffee except instant exactly as in the rooms. (Machine has been broken for weeks and every so often a bloke comes in looks at it for a few minutes and leaves again- machine still broken.Again very understaffed bearing in mind the number of customers - this place seems too popular with coach tours - with most of the items running out and waiting for replenishment.
Braehead shopping centre is within walking distance (including Sainsburys) and plenty of regular buses to most of Glasgow. It was fairly quiet despite being near a busy road and a large out of town shopping complex. It is a few miles from the airport so near enough for flights.
If given the option I would not come here again and use better equiped and staffed hotels nearer the airport which can actually be classed as 'Airport Hotels'

Room Tip: Find a closer hotel to the airport

Booked 2 rooms for an overnight business trip. Room just what you'd expect at this price point (£54 per room) but not much better. Very soft foam pillows and an average quality bed.

For check in at around 6pm the reception counter doubles as a bar and was understaffed. We saw the 'restaurant" and decided to get a cab into city centre instead - very much a bulk catering operation with tables that were too small and too close together.

Quite quiet overnight but continental breakfast was very poor. Limited range of cereals and bread/pastries and - as the coffee machine was broken - no coffee except instant exactly as in the rooms. Again very understaffed bearing in mind the number of customers - this place seems popular with coach tours - with most of the items running out and waiting for replenishment.

This has not left me with a good (first) impression of the Campanile chain.

Stayed here for a few nights and we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the room and its spaciousness. It is a bus ride to the airport, nevertheless it is good value, has free and fast internet, lovely clean, modern bathroom with eco-friendly soap, (which I loved) and comfy beds. Housekeeping staff didn't disturb us but left clean towels and coffee/tea refills everyday and the reception staff were friendly and accommodating. Air con was good and quiet. The first room that we stayed in had a leaky toilet and we were moved immediately and the issue dealt with expediently.
Braehead shopping centre is within walking distance and plenty of regular buses to most of Glasgow.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

This hotel was an Ibis, Holiday Inn- type of hotel. It was fairly quiet despite being near a busy road and a large out of town shopping complex. It is a few miles from the airport so near enough for flights. I stayed there with an organised holiday in a lovely, spacious double room which was more than adequate for a single traveller. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, including my own! The evening meal and breakfast was adequate on the first day for a group of 40 but after the rep.complained, it did improve. Staff were helpful when asked.

Good value for the price. This new hotel is a standout in the Campanile line. Large room with comfortable bed. Large and unique pod-like shower. Free Wifi throughout the building. Shuttle service the only drawback as we had to taxi in from the auto rental return and had to taxi back to the airport as there was no early driver. Also, be aware that airport location is ~10 minutes away.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in June before my boyfriend caught his flight home. Lovely large room, comfortable bed, large shower in bedroom, extremely fast internet, eco-friendly amenities and great customer service. Can't really say much more than that! It was excellent. I would recommend it to anyone.
