I stayed in this hotel in Jan 2006 while in Glasgow for business. The room allocated was a fair size but the lighting was dark and gloomy and the bedside lamps seemed to have a delay before they came on - which made me question their safety.
The bathroom water had what we would call a 'foosty' smell about it - didn't think it was safe to drink!
I ordered room service for my evening meal - it was OK but items were missing and it was on the cool side, food came up uncovered too. The range of food was not great either.
The door on my room had very little to hold the lock in place and as I was on my own in the city overnight I didn't feel that secure. There was a chain on the door which did help.
I ordered breakfast for 7.45- 8 slot - it didn't arrive - I phoned down at 8.10 to be told it was on it's way - at 8.25 it arrived which gave me about 5 minutes to eat it before I left for my business meeting. There were items missing again - ie no continental basket of bread and rolls but a nice dish of butter with nothing to put it on. The fruit juice had also been spilled all over the tray.
Good points - the staff were friendly, particularly the receptionist at check in and check out.
