I read the review on this Hotel before I stayed Hey what a surprize my room was good modern furniture clean, you can see they are working on corridors, I attended a Private Dinner, the Function Room was Fab food was first class, Breakfast great choice, Dinner on 3nd night in Restaurant - Food was super, I enjoyed the Leisure Club pool and spa areas so clean, staff friendly I can say the Hotel is a great inside out side needs a facelift, but I can say I WILL BE BACK - Handy for Football and Business

I stayed here recently as it was the official accomodation for a National sporting competition. This would not have been my personal choice of hotel, but I was prepared to give it a go. Having arrived late in the afternoon, after the competition I had a few simple questions I needed anwered. One was where is the official presentation. The receptionist (visibly under a lot of presure) dealt with me in about 10 seconds, and informed me they would call my room with details of the presentation. This never happened. The place is ideal if you are a drunken football fan, however if your not it's in need of a radical makeover.

The two barmen were slaughtered that evening, obviously severly understaffed.
These guy' were excellent and deserve much better than this place.
The presentation meal was terrible and the service aweful.
My experience at this hotel prompted me to join trip advisor.

Don't go there, unless you have to!!!

I must admit I was mildly concerned about staying here after reading the reviews however I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The staff were extremely helpful and always pleasant and the hotel in itself was fine, maybe a little overhaul needed as it looked a little tired. Our room was a double non smoking as requested. It was lovely and the bathroom was fine. Maids were friendly and the bed was sooo comfy! The breakfast was to die for and the evening meal was very tasty - my only concern was with the bar - a small glass of white wine was £3.50... but it was a hotel bar and you can't expect much else really. But all in all, no complaints.

We chose this hotel because the swallow name is normally regarded as a quality brand.
The family room we were allocated was not of generous proportions but was clean and well decorated, but the bathroom was quite disgusting.
The smell from the mouldy shower curtain greeted us as soon as we opened the door and the once white bath sealant had been colonised by a thick black mould along its entire length and was starting to creep up the grout between the tiles.
The reception,leisure suite, bar and dining room are all very pleasant and the staff are very helpful but drinks are a liitle expensive at almost eight pounds for a coke. a beer and smallish glass of wine.
I would stay again but i would ask to see the bathroom first.
